Position Summary:
This role is responsible for the successful delivery of customer projects from order receipt through to final acceptance. Combining project management and technical expertise, the position ensures systems are correctly specified, installed, and commissioned while maintaining a high level of customer engagement throughout.
The role operates as the primary customer interface during project execution and requires frequent travel to client sites, both within the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and to customer satisfaction
- Define and validate technical solutions, configurations, and project scope in line with customer requirements
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective project execution
- Manage system installation, commissioning, and issue resolution on customer sites
- Deliver operator and maintenance training to customer personnel
- Provide technical support to sales and pre-sales teams as required
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including system drawings and records
- Proactively identify and resolve technical and operational challenges
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in project delivery, ideally within engineering or technical environments
- Solid technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, and computer-based systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex technical issues through to resolution
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, customer-facing environment
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g. DraftSight 2D/3D) is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Additional language skills are beneficial
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively (approximately 70%), including international assignments
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work additional hours as required to support project delivery
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
