Job Summary:

AMETEK SCP is establishing an operational presence in the United Kingdom and need an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to transition and grow the business. This leadership role is foundational and will play a critical part in building, shaping, and scaling AMETEK SCP’s UK operations.

The UK Operations Manager will coordinate and manage experienced, local UK-based subcontractors to ensure effective, compliant, and efficient execution of operational activities.

The UK Operations Manager will operate as an extension of the broader US-based team and receive collaborative support from Quality, Engineering and Operations personnel to transfer proven processes and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of operational leadership in the UK, owning day-to-day operations
  • Establish and embed core UK operational processes, controls, and best practices
  • Support UK business activities across administration, suppliers, compliance, and workflows
  • Work collaboratively with US-based Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure technical alignment, consistent execution, and adherence to quality standards
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with UK-based subcontractors, suppliers, agents, and service providers
  • Identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Track key operational metrics and provide regular updates to senior stakeholders
  • Support initial UK setup activities and contribute to future team and capability expansion
  • Play an active role in shaping how the UK operation scales over time

Qualifications:

Required

  • Ability to integrate supply chain, engineering and operations to assemble complex products with stringent quality requirements.
  • Extensive transactional ERP knowledge required for end-to-end manufacturing of engineered products
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with remote teams
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with distributed, cross-functional stakeholders
  • Detail-driven with a pragmatic, hands-on approach

Preferred

  • Experience supporting the setup or early growth of a regional operation
  • Exposure to BAE UK supplier compliance considerations
  • Process improvement or operational transformation experience
  • Potential for future leadership growth
