Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in machine tools, Special Purpose Machines (SPM), sheet metal design, and strong proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM systems. The role involves end-to-end design, validation, and documentation of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design components for Machine Tools, SPMs, and automation equipment.
  • Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings with GD&T and perform tolerance analysis
  • Perform engineering calculations and material selection wherever required.
  • Participate in ECN/ECO processes including preparing engineering change requests, evaluating impacts, and updating documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and cost optimization.
  • Prepare BOMs and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, quality, and suppliers for design execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical design (Machine Tools / SPM preferred).
  • Should have experience in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, sheet metal) and PDM.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, and GD&T.
  • Experience working with ECN/ECO workflow and engineering change controls.
  • Good understanding of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of FEA/simulation.
  • Understanding of hydraulics/pneumatics.
