We’re looking for a results driven sales professional with experience in the power generation, transmission, and/or electrical utility markets who enjoys developing relationships, solving complex customer challenges, and growing business within EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) environments.
This role offers the opportunity to own a territory, work closely with engineering and project teams, and make a visible impact while being supported by a global organization with deep technical expertise.
Job Summary:
As a Regional Sales Manager, EPC, you’ll manage and grow relationship with engineering, procurement, and construction firms supporting major energy and infrastructure projects in the Kansas City region.
You’ll engage customers early, understand their project goals, and partner internally to deliver technically sound, commercially competitive solutions. This role balances autonomy with collaboration and is well suited to someone who enjoys both strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory & Business Development
- Build and execute a territory growth strategy focused on EPC firms in power generation, transmission, utilities, and infrastructure
- Identify and pursue, and close new high-value opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships and market share
- Manage a healthy sales pipeline and deliver reliable forecasts
Customer Engagement
- Build long-term relationships with EPC customers and project stakeholders
- Conduct site visits, technical discussions, and educational presentations
- Translate customer needs into practical power system solutions
Project & Proposal Leadership
- Lead the development of technical and commercial proposals
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, and contracts teams
- Manage pricing strategies, negotiations, and contract executions
Market & Team Collaboration
- Stay informed on power, utility, and infrastructure market trends
- Partner closely with internal sales and technical colleagues
- Maintain CRM activity and weekly reporting
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years’ experience selling industrial or capital equipment in competitive markets
- Experience within power generation, transmission, electrical utility, or adjacent infrastructure markets
- Familiarity with EPC project environments, including how engineering, procurement, and construction teams evaluate and select suppliers
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical equipment and the ability to review and discuss electrical one-line diagrams
- Exposure to industrial power solutions, such as UPS systems, power conditioning, battery systems, or related technologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple opportunities and collaborate across technical and commercial teams
- This role is located in the Kansas City region. Candidates must reside within a reasonable proximity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven success in a consultative, relationship-driven sales approach for complex or engineered solutions
- Experience selling into EPC firms supporting power generation, utilities, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects
- Track record of proactively developing opportunities and growing a territory over time
- Strong communication and relationship building skills across engineering, procurement, and leadership stakeholders
- Organized, adaptable, and comfortable navigating technically complex sales environments
- Self-directed with a strong sense of ownership, while valuing collaboration and partnership
- Familiarity with Salesforce.com, Outlook, and Microsoft Office tools
- Prior experience with industrial IPS systems or critical power solutions a plus
