Job Description:

The Tool Room Technician is responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and adjusting mechanical components using conventional and/or CNC machine tools (desirable). This role ensures accuracy, quality, and compliance with technical specifications in accordance with manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate general machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, drills, shapers, and other machine tools.
  • Set up and adjust equipment according to blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Perform tool changes and adjust machining parameters as needed.
  • Interpret mechanical design drawings for the fabrication of parts, fixtures, tools, and PokaYoke devices.
  • Apply measurement systems using metric and/or imperial units.
  • Manufacture, machine, and modify stock parts or new components as required.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineering on developing new tools that support production operations.
  • Support the development of processes that improve efficiency within machining operations.
  • Follow all quality policy guidelines and contribute to ISO 9000 compliance requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to workplace safety procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in Machine Tools (electromechanical), Mechanics, Electronics, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in Machine Tools operation (lathe, milling, grinding, electric and argon welding) preferred.
  • Dimensional metrology (GDT and geometric tolerances).
  • Knowledge of metallic materials and their properties.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools.
  • Understanding of machining process flow.
  • Desirable experience in manufacturing processes, industrial machinery, and basic mechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
