Job Description:

The Application Engineer provides required assistance and prepares required documents, drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs) for the manufacture of modified equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Selects the correct technology and specific model number required to meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare sketches or dimensional drawings for modifications to standard equipment.
  • Prepare drawings for new design.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions.
  • Create certification as requested by the customer.
  • Consult with other departments to resolve issues related to Application Engineering. Recommend changes to standard drawings and procedures.
  • Serve as a consultant with production issues as necessary.
  • Support Project Quote Specialists and Customer Support Advocates as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and training to Application Engineering team.

Requirements For Consideration:

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in Application Engineering in related field.
  • Demonstrated mastery of the principles, practices, and processes in the applicable discipline and has a working knowledge of related fields.
  • Can apply broad business knowledge required to meet targets/goals.
  • Possesses the technical and behavioral traits to provide training to the team.
  • Command of the business knowledge required of the full job.
  • Ability to read specifications and data sheets to determine correct methodology to best meet customer needs.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Advanced PC skills.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Understanding of piping industry, rules, and regulations.
  • Read and interpret Technical Specifications.
  • Ability to grasp interaction between complex mechanical systems (Mechanical Aptitude).
