Job Description

About WTW

WTW is a global leader in advisory, broking, and solutions, helping clients turn risk into opportunities for growth. With a rich history dating back to 1828, we’ve been part of some of the most iconic moments in history—from insuring the Titanic in 1912 to supporting the Moon Buggy in 1971.

Our Regional Delivery Hub in Lisbon is home to a dynamic team of 400+ professionals who drive innovation and deliver operational excellence every day.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Automation Developer, you will play a critical role in identifying and implementing automation opportunities that drive efficiency, scalability, and business value. You’ll lead the design and development of robust RPA solutions, guide junior developers, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver impactful process improvements across the organization.

This role combines strong technical expertise with stakeholder engagement, project leadership, and a strategic mindset to support WTW’s automation goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end automation solutions in line with WTW’s best practices and business needs, estimating effort and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Conduct process reviews and opportunity assessments to identify areas for improvement through automation.
  • Lead and contribute to all phases of automation projects, from analysis and design to development, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure comprehensive testing and secure necessary approvals and documentation for automation implementations.
  • Deliver reliable, scalable RPA solutions with clear, accurate, and detailed technical documentation.
  • Review and validate junior developers’ work, providing guidance to ensure solutions are efficient, effective, and maintainable.
  • Collaborate in shaping the WTW Retirement RPA strategy, assessing and recommending new opportunities and technologies.
  • Manage incidents and perform root cause analysis, including resolution and prevention planning; on-call support may be required.
  • Prioritize and coordinate technical tasks within the automation team, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Provide training and support to end users to ensure adoption and understanding of automation solutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver business-aligned outcomes.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in RPA development (e.g. UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Automate Desktop, Automation Anywhere), or strong proficiency in object-oriented programming.
  • Skilled in process analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and flowchart creation.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and how RPA can support and optimize organizational goals.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders, understanding their goals and aligning solutions accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); French is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
