Your New Role

An exciting opportunity for an analytical, yet creative graduate with high attention to detail has arisen to join a truly global media company in the EMEA Discovery Networks team. The successful candidate will support the Lifestyle Programme Planning Manager and the wider planning team with schedule development. If you love watching reality, lifestyle and documentary programmes, this could be the perfect role for you.

As part of the Lifestyle Programme Planning Team, the role of Programme Planning Coordinator is to take responsibility for the accurate inputting of schedules and day-to-day administration of two HGTV channels which broadcast across EMEA and ME. The successful candidate must be keen to develop their editorial and strategic thinking to help assist the creation of creative, yet data-driven programme schedules to maximize audience ratings. Although a background in broadcast media is advantageous, this is not required as full training will be provided.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Accurately input schedules into IBMS and communicate schedule amendments as required by the Programme Planning Manager.
  • Production and distribution of monthly channel reports including premiere lists and schedule grids.
  • Executing schedule changes quickly and accurately as instructed by Programme Planning Manager.
  • Support other planners and coordinators within the team on their channels as necessary.
  • Maintenance of internal tracking documents.
  • Requesting rights for content and ad-hoc administrative tasks.
  • Producing ratings reports where required .
  • Key point of contact for assigned channels.
  • Screening content for suitability and contributing towards channel editorial strategy.
  • Build strong relationships and handle day to day enquiries from other departments and to inform Presentation, Listings, Media Planning, Operations, Press and Marketing teams of initiatives or changes, as required or requested.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent attention to detail is vital
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential
  • Experience of working in a TV broadcast environment ideal but not essential
  • Planning and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and the able to multitask
  • Team player and able to work effectively on own initiative when required
  • Interest in TV scheduling and an appreciation for non-fiction lifestyle and entertainment programming, with a particular interest in property and interior design advantageous
  • Proactive approach to work, able to prioritize and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate at varying levels
  • Experience in Word & Excel
  • Preferably proficient in IBMS and TechEdge
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
