Your New Role:
As a Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O) Architect, you will play a strategic, and hands-on role in defining, designing, and governing enterprise-grade ERP and omnichannel commerce solutions that drive Warner Bros. Discovery’s global business transformation. This role will report to the Senior Director of Retail Technology and be based out of Leavesden Park, Watford.
You will lead the end-to-end architectural design and integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain, and Commerce within a complex enterprise ecosystem—delivering scalable, compliant, and high-performance solutions that support global retail, e-commerce, and shared services operations.
Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll collaborate with business and technology leaders to define the digital roadmap for the Finance and Retail landscape, leveraging Microsoft’s evolving cloud ecosystem including Azure, Power Platform, Dataverse, AI/Copilot, and Commerce Cloud capabilities.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Architectural Leadership (20%)
Define and govern D365 Finance & Operations solution architecture in alignment with enterprise technology strategy and business objectives.
Lead architecture design decisions balancing scalability, performance, compliance, and total cost of ownership.
Establish design principles, integration patterns, and reference architectures consistent with Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework and TOGAF standards.
Serve as the primary architectural authority across Finance, and Operations domains, ensuring consistency of design across global rollouts.
Collaborate with Supply Chain Architect, unlocking the design of new retail new initiatives.
Solution Design & Governance (20%)
Lead end-to-end F&O solution design spanning Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Commerce processes.
Facilitate fit-gap analysis, blueprint workshops, and cross-functional design reviews to align global template standards with local regulatory and business requirements.
Translate complex business requirements into scalable, compliant, and future-ready architectures across functional and technical layers.
Validate architecture across F&O modules and supporting Azure/Power Platform services.
Technology Enablement & Roadmap (20%)
Maintain deep familiarity with Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain & Commerce roadmap, ensuring the solution leverages emerging platform innovations such as:
Business Performance Analytics
Planning Optimization
Intelligent Order Management (IOM)
AI/Copilot for Finance and Commerce
Omnichannel Commerce capabilities
Drive integration of Power BI, Synapse Analytics, and Dataverse to enable real-time reporting, AI-driven forecasting, and intelligent automation.
Define environment management, release strategy, and DevSecOps practices leveraging Azure DevOps.
Finance & Operations Architecture (20%)
Provide domain leadership across core D365 modules including:
Design unified architectures connecting Commerce and F&O Back-Office for end-to-end order orchestration, financial postings, and inventory visibility.
Finance: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash & Bank, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, Budgeting, Expense Management.
Taxation & Compliance: VAT/GST, Withholding, Reverse Charges, Localisation, e-Invoicing, and Integration with SAP
Commerce: Retail POS, e-Commerce Storefronts, Customer Engagement, Channel Management, Pricing & Promotions, and Order Fulfilment.
Integration & Data Architecture
Define and oversee enterprise integration strategy between D365 applications, HR, CRM, data platforms, and external systems.
Lead Master Data Management (MDM), data migration planning, and financial data harmonization across multiple entities and regions.
Utilise modern integration technologies including Event Grid, Service Bus, Logic Apps, and Power Automate to enable real-time, event-driven interactions.
Stakeholder & Delivery Leadership (10%)
Provide architectural guidance to implementation teams and partner organisations, ensuring solution adherence to blueprints and enterprise governance.
Engage with Microsoft’s FastTrack team for solution validation, performance ptimization, and go-live readiness.
Mentor functional and technical leads, fostering a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing.
Governance, Security & Compliance (10%)
Enforce architectural governance through design authorities, quality gates, and documentation standards.
Ensure solution compliance with SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS, and local fiscal regulations.
Promote automated monitoring, auditing, and exception reporting using Azure and D365 native tools.
Qualifications & Experiences:
Required:
10–15+ years of ERP solution architecture experience, including 5+ years with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) or Dynamics AX.
Demonstrated experience leading Design Authorities or Architecture Review Boards within global ERP or digital transformation programs.
Proven delivery of enterprise-scale, multi-entity D365 implementations covering Finance, Supply Chain, and Commerce.
Deep expertise in Finance, Taxation, and Commerce architectures, including localisations and regulatory compliance.
Strong technical knowledge of Azure, Power Platform, Dataverse, and modern integration frameworks (OData, APIs, Event Grid, Service Bus).
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing strategies.
Excellent leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional teams.
Desirable:
Experience in multi-entity, global enterprises (retail, or consumer goods sectors preferred).
Familiarity with Microsoft FastTrack and direct collaboration with Microsoft solution engineering teams.
Exposure to AI-driven in-platform financial analytics, Business Performance Analytics, and Commerce Cloud modernisation.
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and governance maturity models.
