Your New Role:


As a Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Architect, you will play a strategic and hands-on role in shaping enterprise-grade supply chain solutions built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O). You will lead the design, architecture, and delivery of innovative Supply Chain Management solutions that align with objectives of a growing Global Retail business and Microsoft’s evolving technology roadmap. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll partner with stakeholders across business, technology and strategic partners to drive digital transformation, leveraging Microsoft’s FastTrack methodology and best practices to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. This role will report to the Senior Director of Retail Technology and will be based out of Leavesden Park, Watford

Your Role Accountabilities:

Architectural Leadership (30%)

Design, lead, and govern Dynamics 365 Supply Chain solution architectures that meet enterprise standards for scalability, integration, and performance.

Solution Design & Workshops:

Lead fit-gap analysis, blueprinting, and design workshops across all SCM functional areas, ensuring alignment with end-to-end supply chain processes. Working in partnership with business teams to translate business requirements into architectural and functional design, whilst also preserving the integrity of the out of the box supply chain product.

Functional Expertise (20%):

Provide expert guidance across the full breadth of Microsoft’s SCM capabilities, including:

  • Product Information Management

  • Procurement and Sourcing

  • Inventory and Warehouse Management

  • Master Planning and Forecasting

  • Production Control (Discrete, Process, and Lean manufacturing)

  • Asset Management

  • Sales and Marketing (order processing and fulfilment)

  • Transportation and Landed Cost Management

  • Engineering Change Management

  • Supplier Collaboration and Planning Optimisation

  • Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP)

Technology Alignment (10%)

Maintain deep familiarity with Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 SCM roadmap, ensuring solutions leverage the latest innovations (such as Planning Optimisation, Supply Chain Insights, Intelligent Order Management, and CoPilot/AI capabilities).

Stakeholder Management (10%):

Engage with programme leadership, business sponsors, and technical teams to translate business goals into robust and future-proof solution architectures.

FastTrack Delivery Leadership (10%):

Champion Microsoft’s FastTrack for Dynamics 365 principles—emphasizing proven implementation accelerators, quality gates, and go-live readiness to ensure smooth and successful deployments.

Quality, Governance & Integration (10%):

Enforce architectural best practices, integration patterns leveraging Power Platform Resources (microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures), and DevSecOps principles through tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Ansible.

Team Enablement (10%):

Provide technical and functional leadership to delivery teams, ensuring consistent standards, effective knowledge transfer, and alignment with enterprise design frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman).

Qualifications & Experiences:

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O / AX, including 3–4+ full-cycle multi-entity enterprise-level implementations in Supply Chain or Manufacturing domains (design through to go-live).

  • Hands-on expertise across multiple SCM modules, including planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and fulfilment

  • Strong understanding of D365 architecture, Azure, Power Platform, Dataverse, and Integration Patterns (API, OData, Event Grid, Service Bus).

  • Demonstrated experience leading Design Authorities or Architecture Review Boards within global ERP or digital transformation programs.

  • Real-world experience in discrete, process, or lean manufacturing environments, with the ability to translate operational needs into scalable system design.

  • Practical experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, continuous integration, automated testing, and configuration management.

Desirable:

  • Experience in multi-entity, global enterprises (retail, or consumer goods sectors preferred).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft FastTrack and direct collaboration with Microsoft solution engineering teams.

  • Exposure to AI-driven in-platform financial analytics, Business Performance Analytics, and Commerce Cloud modernisation.

  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and governance maturity models.

  • MB-300: Microsoft Dynamics 365: Core Finance and Operations

  • MB-320: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing

  • MB-330: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management

  • MB-335: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Expert (combined replacement for MB-300 + MB-330)

  • MB-340: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce Functional Consultant (optional, for retail or omnichannel projects)

  • MB-700: Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (for progression to solution architecture roles)

  • MB-300: Dynamics 365: Core Finance and Operations (prerequisite)

  • MB-700: Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (core architect credential)

  • AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (recommended for hybrid and cloud integration)

  • PL-600: Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect (for architects leveraging Power Platform alongside D365)
