  • Your New Role…
    As the FP&A CoE HBO Content Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate forecasting, reporting and analysis for HBO programming, working with business finance partners to gather inputs and understand drivers. You will develop deep competencies in this area, providing business and finance partners with high quality information for decision making.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential as well as strong initiative and the ability to work collaboratively in multidepartment team environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced user) and other financial data analysis tools and techniques. Demonstrated experience in financial modelling. Experience with data visualization (i.e. Power BI/Tableau) strongly preferred.
  • Critical thinker and strong problem solver; ability to frame issues, articulate findings and present optimal solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills. Ability to work accurately and efficiently with high volumes of data under tight deadlines across multiple time zones.
  • Proven ability to build confidence and trust based long term relationships with business partners.
  • Motivated by a challenging, dynamic and high-energy environment.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • 4-5 years in accounting, finance, operations or other relevant business analytical experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field is required. MBA is considered a plus.
  • Experience in Hyperion Essbase, SAP S4HANA, SAS and/or SQL are considered a plus.
  • Experience in Entertainment industry is a plus.
  • Experience in Shared Services centers is preferred.

Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Develop and prepare reports for forecasts and budgets, including by title information details.
  • Prepare and review systems tie outs for content expense, investments and cash flow.
  • Roll forward and prepare programming amort files for forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans. 25%

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Prepare P&L templates and variance reports for forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans.
  • Add and maintain other attribute drivers for all HBO Original Production titles in ARIA specifically for status, deal type, hours, eps., etc.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and cash avail templates for various content areas.
  • Perform cost analysis and review development commitment reconciliations.25%

Management Reporting and Month-End Close:

  • Maintain the finance data model and Create/Review titles in Oracle, DRM, and MPM. Once titles are added, review drivers are properly reflected and are accurate based off the snapshot and contracts.
  • Coordinate with the Controllership team on month-end activities. Supervise month-end close processes and review EFC and accrual adjustments.
  • Review intercompany reimbursements and license fee schedules. 25%

Ad-Hoc Analysis and System Implementations:

  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and financial model updates requested by team leaders and other business partners.
  • Actively participate in systems implementations, suggesting enhancements and conducting respective UAT sessions.
  • Actively seek efficiencies and improvement opportunities within the processes and procedures under assigned scope.
