Designer, Technical

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Works with the Lead Designer and other design teams to understand, iterate and prototype large gameplay systems

  • Works closely with Engineering teams to understand available tools, structures and already existent systems to prototype as efficiently and efficiently as possible

  • Collaborate closely with the design team to understand gameplay objectives and translate them into technical solutions

  • Present design ideas, receive feedback, then adjust designs and metrics accordingly

  • Own, drive and implement subsystems which contribute to larger gameplay

  • Design and implement tools to allow other designers to quickly playtest gameplay scenarios

  • Manage gameplay data

  • Work in Miro, Confluence and other design communication tools

  • Other duties may be assigned


Qualifications & Experience

  • A passion for gaming and game development

  • Undergraduate degree (in Game Design or Computer Science) or equivalent industry experience

  • Experience with Unreal 4/5 (UE4/5)

  • Excellent understanding of UE5’s Blueprints

  • At least basic understanding of C++/Software development structures

  • Ability to prototype efficiently in a fast-paced development environment

  • Ability to work in large international teams

  • Remain current on console games and a knowledge of game mechanics across a variety of genres and platforms

  • Proficient at giving and receiving feedback

  • Highly motivated self-starter and creative thinker with fresh ideas

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SQL

  • Previously released game titles

  • Experience with Figma & UX Design
