Reporting to the Manager of Contextual Metadata Governance, the AVOD Content Conditioner is responsible for screening video content and placing ad break marker queues for Warner Bros. Discovery’s Ad-Based Video On-Demand (AVOD) programming. This role collaborates closely with the AVOD Conditioning team to ensure accurate identification and placement of ad markers based on established requirements. Utilizing WBD’s video asset annotation management system, the conditioner will identify and mark breakpoints in full compliance with process guidelines and technical standards. This position demands the ability to meet strict volume deadlines while consistently upholding high standards of accuracy, visual continuity, and overall viewer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Screen and Annotate Video Content: Use WBD's annotation tools to identify optimal commercial break points with a focus on narrative flow, aesthetic quality, and viewer experience.
Ensure Quality and Accuracy: Maintain high standards while meeting strict volume and delivery deadlines. Perform quality checks on ad marker placements and suggest improvements.
Collaborate and Communicate: Partner with AVOD leads and internal teams to review workflows, align on project goals, and provide actionable feedback.
Problem-Solve and Improve: Troubleshoot discrepancies in video conditioning, flag workflow inefficiencies, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Stay Organized and Proactive: Track progress, manage priorities, and adapt to evolving project timelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Information Science, or related field—or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in broadcast operations, digital media, or streaming platforms
Proficiency with media asset management (MAM) systems and metadata workflows
Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar NLE platforms
Understanding of professional video formats, standards, and broadcast/post-production processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays
Experience in content quality control, format editing, or broadcast tech is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with OTT platforms is advantageous
