Your New Role:
This position supports the delivery of Warner Bros. Discovery Original programming for worldwide studio licensing deals, consisting of both external licensees and intercompany deals for WBDs businesses. This requires technical expertise in digital file production and delivery, enforcing content protection and quality assurance. Global licensing deals involve ongoing content delivery of new deals, global expansion projects, and parity backfill projects. Platforms receiving this content involve EST, SVOD, TVOD, AVOD, FAST, linear networks, airlines, and other forms of consumption. Fulfillment of digital media and related ancillary assets in various foreign languages and technical formats will be a requirement. As WBD and GCO within that are evolving and converging its operational and technical workflows and capabilities, this will include participating directly in critical WBD-led technology improvement initiatives that will enable simplified operational distribution of this content.
Team Management
· Allocate time to ensure areas including technical skills, subject matter expertise, and WBD guiding principles are areas of priority, performance, and development.
· Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to P&C, VP and Director.
· Serve as backup to the Director, representing WBD to external vendors, global clients.
· Instruct technical requirements to internal and external content teams, including sync and conform
editors, mastering personnel, and software developers.
Global Content Strategy:
· Determine technical and operational requirements for strategy expansion initiatives including MAX, Amazon, Netflix.
· Oversee high profile, high revenue license deal content to support $7B+ direct deliveries studio license deals.
· Travel globally for MAX launches and training WBD employees on other countries to ensure smooth process for territory expansions.
· Develop process improvement plans and implement strategies to achieve organizational goals.
· Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
· Make informed decisions to resolve technical issues including recommendation that impact consumer experiences.
· Evaluate and approve launch proposals and plan delivery strategies in conjunction with stakeholder management.
Technology Collaboration:
· Ensure content is locally relevant with subs and dubs for specific markets. · Oversee global content creation, governance, and operations.
· Monitor key performance indicators to gauge content effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
· Report on content performance and assess risk for high profile content including Theatrical New Release titles.
· Work with marketing, partners, and product teams to confirm content availability.
· Partner with technology, localization, digital media and product marketing teams to deliver on content needs across the assets lifecycle.
· Enforce content security, managing the protection of pre-air titles for license deals worldwide. Content Distribution
· Approve Purchase Orders up to $50K in WBD spend, for which Management level is required. · Serve as the primary point of contact between upper management (VPs and SVPs) and team members. Communicate goals, expectations, and updates effectively.
Qualifications & Experiences:
· Minimum of 7 years of experience managing and supporting file-based workflows within a media organization, post-production facility or equivalent.
· 3+ years of management experience in the media industry
· High level knowledge of technical workflows for media encoding, QC, metadata management and
distribution.
· Proven high-level knowledge of broadcast material formats (tape/file/audio) duplication, file formats,
and component-based media packages.
· Strong business English is necessary. Clear, concise communication both in writing and verbally.
· Hands on experience working with third party vendors for the production and distribution of consumer content.
· Experience with servicing large global platforms such as Amazon PV, Netflix, Apple, Google, is ideal.
Experience working with globally dispersed teams and time zones is preferred. · Experience managing “project based” launches and global expansion projects is highly preferred. Not Required but preferred experience:
· Bachelor’s degree
