La Clinique interdisciplinaire de droit social de l’Outaouais (CIDSO) a été fondée en 2020 par des professeurs et professeures de l’Université d’Ottawa (Faculté de droit civil, École de travail social et École des sciences infirmières) et l’Université du Québec en Outaouais (Département des sciences infirmières). La mission de la CIDSO est de fournir du soutien interdisciplinaire aux populations en situation d’itinérance ou à risque de l’être dans la région de l’Outaouais. L’accès aux services de la CIDSO (droit, sciences infirmières, travail social) vise à prévenir le recours à la judiciarisation des personnes marginalisées aux prises avec des difficultés sociales, économiques et de santé. L’objectif du présent assistanat de recherche est de contribuer au développement d’un volet d’ergothérapie sociale au sein de la CIDSO. Cette initiative vise à mieux comprendre l’expérience des personnes en situation d’itinérance, en particulier lors des épisodes de chaleur.
Les fonctions associées au poste consisteront à :
- réaliser une revue de la littérature en lien avec l’ergothérapie sociale
- participation et familiarisation avec les activités existantes de la CIDSO
- participation à la collecte de données en lien avec les effets de la chaleur et à leur analyse
- participation à la publication d’articles et de communications scientifiques
Qualifications:
Ergothérapeute enregistré-e;
Étudiant-e au PhD en science de la réadaptation ou autre discipline connexe
Bilinguisme (français et anglais) avec maîtrise avancée du français;
Intérêt envers la collaboration interdisciplinaire
Intérêt envers le développement de la pratique communautaire de l’ergothérapie
Expérience auprès ou vécu expérientiel au sein de et auprès de populations marginalisées
Expérience de recherche avec l’approche de body-mapping
Expérience à mener des entrevues qualitatives en français

The Outaouais Interdisciplinary Social Law Clinic (CIDSO) was founded in 2020 by professors from the University of Ottawa (Faculty of Civil Law, School of Social Work, and School of Nursing) and the University of Quebec in Outaouais (Department of Nursing). The CIDSO's mission is to provide interdisciplinary support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Outaouais region. Access to CIDSO services (law, nursing, social work) aims to prevent the judicialization of marginalized individuals facing social, economic, and health challenges. The objective of this research assistantship is to contribute to the development of a social occupational therapy component within the CIDSO. This initiative aims to better understand the experience of people experiencing homelessness, particularly during heat waves.
The duties associated with the position will consist of:
- conducting a literature review related to social occupational therapy
- participating in and familiarizing oneself with the CIDSO's existing activities
- participating in the collection and analysis of data related to the effects of heat
- participating in the publication of scientific articles and communications
Qualifications
Registered occupational therapist;
PhD student in rehabilitation sciences or other related discipline
Bilingualism (French and English) with advanced proficiency in French;
Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
Interest in the development of community-based occupational therapy practice
Experience working with or living among marginalized populations
Research experience with the body-mapping approach
Experience conducting qualitative interviews in French
