PhD required. Experience of successfully teaching university-level courses in the field of metaphysics, ethics, humanism/ posthumanism, and the study of subjectivity, including an exploration of human-nonhuman relations. Preference will be given to an instructor whose own research interests fall within these areas, and who has relevant scholarly research and publications
Theme : Exploring the Self : Renaissance Humanism to Posthumanism.
The course explores the philosophical, political, and ethical stakes involved in advancing or rejecting theories of humanism and addresses basic questions on subjectivity: What is the nature of the self? What criteria qualify a human (or a nonhuman) being as a subject: consciousness, rationality, free will, or corporeality?
