$112,957.00 - $140,190.00Position Purpose
Assists the Associate Vice-President, Francophonie on a number of priority issues highlighting the Francophonie at the University of Ottawa. Ensures strategic leadership in the development and implementation of strategies related to the fundamental mission of the University in matters of Francophonie and bilingualism activities, including teaching, research, and stakeholders relations. Provides expertise and leadership in positioning the University on all matters linked to the Francophonie. Ensures that the University meets legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to language and oversees implementation of an action plan for the Francophonie. Initiates development of new policies and procedures, advises on complaints in the area and develops University the continuous education programs. Forms long-lasting partnerships and collaborations with institutions and organizations in the university community and in French-speaking communities in Ontario, across Canada and around the world. Represents on occasion, the University of Ottawa at various forums both at and outside the University.
Essential Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant area or considerable equivalent experience in the Francophonie
- At least 8-10 years of experience in strategic planning and management
- In-depth knowledge of both undergraduate and graduate university programs
- Proven leadership, human resources management and change management experience as well as strong interpersonal skills based on consultation, analysis and feedback
- Knowledge and experience concerning francophone and official languages-related issues
- Experience in designing and implementing new projects and programs, with ability to plan in the short, medium and long term, establish performance indicators and take appropriate action to reach objectives
- Considerable experience in preparing institutional studies and reports, including developing rigorous methodological frameworks, data analysis, data verification and recommendation drafting
- Excellent ability to analyze, summarize and solve complex problems
- Organizational, time management and multitasking skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, spoken and written, in both official languages
- Excellent team supervision skills with ability to create a respectful environment that encourages innovation and results
