Your tasks

Supports the Lead Safety Assessor in coordinating of Subsystem Integration Experts (SSIE) regarding scope and assessment focus over the entire project including the setup and elaborating of an overall assessment plan.

Supports the Lead Safety Assessor in optimizing templates, procedures and work descriptions for multi-domain projects.

Evaluates the overall risk management process and concept over the entire life cycle together with the Lead Safety Assessor.

Evaluates the adequate specification of system safety requirements based on system level hazard analysis including the adequate apportionment to technical subsystems together with the subsystem integration experts.

Ensures the verification of all life cycle phases (close-outs) over the entire project together with the Lead Safety Assessor.

Supports the Lead Safety Assessor in Concluding intermediate statements according to defined project phases in line with the overall assessment plan.

Evaluates interface risks between technical domains with focus on imported and exported risks among the domains together with the Lead Safety Assessor.

Attend testing and commissioning and audits where appropriate.

Summarizes and coordinates the evaluation of remaining safety application conditions from the technical domains and drives resolving possible contradictions / discrepancies together with the Lead Safety Assessor.

Setup and Maintaining the List of Open Point for the project.

Supports the Lead Safety Assessor in Concluding the final statement.

Continuous reporting to the responsible Project Manager and Lead Safety Assessor.

Your qualifications

Required Skills:

Scientific university degree

At least 5 years of professional experience in railway safety assurance and/or safety management and/or safety assessment

Experience with the delivery of ISA and/or safety assurance activities on system level or subsystem level

Technical basic knowledge on all major subsystems of a railway turnkey project (e.g., Signalling, Railway Communication, Electrification, Power Supply, Rolling Stock, SCADA, Track Work etc.)

Sound experience in the implementation of EN 50126, application skills of EN 50128 and EN 50129 as well as product safety standards such as ISO 12100

Experienced in handling Safety Requirements such as SIL, Performance levels acc. to EN 5012x, IEC 61508, ISO 12100 or associated.

Profound knowledge of system safety methodology & concepts / principles (e.g., Safety Plan, Hazard Analysis, FME(C)A, FTA, Technical Safety Report and Safety Case).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and Fluent in English language (min B2 level or checked during an interview) in spoken and written.

Desired skills:

Knowledge about the application of ISO 17020 or equivalent standards

Experience with the system integration into the operational environment of mainline and metro / LRT railway systems

Basic knowledge about operation and maintenance of railway systems.

The role of the Junior System Integration Assessor for multi-domain projects is to support the Lead Safety Assessor in coordinating, managing and carrying out ISA activities on multi-domain railway projects.
