Position Summary:

TUV SUD Services (UK) Limited provide support services to the TÜV SÜD Group. Our legal team, based in Scotland, provide legal and compliance services to stakeholders across the UK and Europe.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Assess commercial aspects of new contractual activity to identify associated risks and benefits, supporting any contract negotiations.

Analyse both new and existing contracts with customers, suppliers and partners to ensure that content is commercially and contractually sound.

Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with agreed approval matrices.

Liaising with internal stakeholders, including UK Legal and Compliance officer to support resolution of non-commercial contract queries.

Develop, deliver, and maintain effective commercial methods, processes, and operational procedures to ensure contracts are managed in line with internal and external compliance standards.

Maintain sustainable and productive commercial relationships with existing clients/suppliers and partners.

Provide informed advice on a variety of contractual matters.

Manage the review and negotiation of commercial contracts, including supplier and client contracts, NDAs, and other commercial agreements as required.

Undertake other commercial operations, including employee training and development on relevant commercial contracting matters.

Other activities as directed from time to time.

Your qualifications

Skills and Experience:

Recent experience of reviewing, negotiating and processing large volumes of commercial contract orders quickly and efficiently.

Recent experience of reviewing NEC3, NEC4, MF1 and JFD contracts would be ideal but not essential.

Demonstrable experience of making considered and informed commercial decisions in a timely manner, to contribute to the improvement of operational service delivery to customers

A good understanding of contract law

Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate across a variety of levels.

An innate flexibility in their approach – the candidate should have the desire and aptitude to offer flexibility as needed within the role

Excellent organisation skills, and able to prioritise a number of key deadlines and manage well under pressure.

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

A Degree level education or equivalent would be ideal but not essential

A good team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude who actively and positively engages with colleagues with a proactive approach to change and self-development.

Self-driven and results orientated.

An excellent communicator - written, face-to-face and by telephone.
