Are you a skilled software developer looking for a new challenge?

As a part of the Cloud One Workload Security team at Trend Micro, your role will be to design, implement, test, deploy, and support high quality cloud-native services on AWS. This is a software development role requiring top-notch programming skills, proven software design abilities, and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies. If you love writing quality code to solve real customer problems, then we want to talk to you.

As a software developer on the Cloud One Workload Security team, you will:

  • Be a key contributor to rich AWS cloud-native applications that integrate seamlessly with other Cloud One services

  • Work with a team of 5-7 in short sprints or kanban to deliver incremental improvements or new features to production

  • Own and operate the services your team builds, respond to service incidents, and participate in post-incident reviews

  • Write non-application code, such as infrastructure as code, unit/functional tests, metrics, dashboards, and alarms

  • Perform analysis from various sources such as logs, traces, dumps, and debuggers to troubleshoot customer issues

  • Focus on quality: leverage automated testing, make code easily maintainable, and always provide clear documentation

  • Actively invest in learning and continuous improvement, with many opportunities to learn and teach skills across teams

  • Build up security domain knowledge and apply secure coding practices to all aspects of your development activities

Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with application development including debugging, in-depth analysis, and optimization

  • Programming experience with multiple operating systems and languages such as C/C++, Go, Java, and Python

  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies, and the ability to get up to speed quickly

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, managing uncertainties, and continuous improvement

  • Skilled at writing maintainable code and/or building maintainable services with high quality

Relevant Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with AWS cloud-native application development (AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Kinesis, etc.)

  • Knowledge or experience with Serverless concepts and infrastructure as code, such as AWS CloudFormation

  • Experience with automated Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and Docker containers

  • Experience working with, designing, testing, and optimizing services at scale

  • Comfortable working at varying levels of the application stack on a variety of platforms

  • Experience in socket programming and technologies, and proven networking knowledge

  • Great scripting skills, seeking to automate where possible to eliminate toil

  • Can communicate thoughts, ideas, and opinions effectively and respectfully

  • Adopts a customer-first approach when troubleshooting problems and resolving issues

  • Knowledge or experience developing secure code and/or working in a security space

Our Hiring Process:

Building our team at Trend is an incredibly important shared responsibility. The typical process looks like this:

  • After you apply online, if you're selected for an interview you will hear from someone in our recruitment team.

  • A quick initial call with a recruiter is typical, and you can use it to share more about yourself and get answers to questions about the position.

  • For coding positions, we often ask candidates to spend up to 2 hours completing an online coding challenge to validate basic coding skills and provide real code we can discuss with you during the interview.

  • A scheduled multi-part interview will give you the chance to meet members of the team you'll be joining, as well as a manager. Pair programming with a potential future colleague is common.

  • Next comes the offer stage and a final call with a manager to discuss expectations and terms.
