Due to our diverse capabilities and our growing local service area making deliveries and pick-ups within a 150-mile radius of our Chelmsford, Massachusetts lab has created an opening for an experienced Shipping/Receiving Scheduler to join our company. The successful candidate will work with the Transportation Team Leader to schedule and coordinate Essco van pickups and deliveries and pick and prep outbound shipments for the following day. Maintain a high level of organization and cross-train in other areas of Shipping/Receiving as necessary.

2nd Shift 2:30pm - 11:00pm

The Shipping/Receiving Scheduler reports to the Transportation Team Lead and works within the scope of their training, education, experience, and skills to accomplish assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Able to make independent decisions with defined scope of work, seeks clarification and direction when needed. Must be self-driven and demonstrate ability to work with little direction.
    • Work according to deadlines while continuing to meet quality and volume standards.
    • Basic computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Excel, SharePoint and Teams experience preferred.
    • Experience using enterprise software such as IndySoft, QuickBooks, Paylocity.
    • Working knowledge of pertinent ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
    • Effective oral and written communication.
    • Good interpersonal skills such as active listening, teamwork, dependability, motivation, flexibility, patience and empathy.
    • Operate with a high-level of integrity.
    • Good organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to prioritize and accomplish goals while working across departments is essential.
    • Understanding and awareness of safety requirements and safe practices.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate/GED. Relevant work experience may substitute for education.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience in logistics and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to process a high volume of daily transactions efficiently and accurately.

Physical Demands:

  • Sit, stand, and walk.
  • Use hands and fingers to perform test activities and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
  • Reach with arms and hands.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 80 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required in this job include close vision requiring focusing eyes on a nearby object for prolonged periods of time.

Work Environment:

  • Professional warehouse environment.
  • Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, pressurized cylinders, chemicals and high voltage power.
  • Routinely use office equipment including computers, copiers, and phones.
  • Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
