As the Manager, External Reporting you will report into the AVP of Corporate Financial Reporting, and be a key member of the Finance, Accounting, Reporting (FAR) Corporate team. You will manage financial accounting, consolidation and reporting for the various Co-operators' entities. You will also manage the development of group-wide accounting policies, the accounting for acquisitions and divestitures and the analysis and resolution of complex accounting issues impacting the group of companies.

How you will create impact:

  • Managing all aspects of consolidated reporting for Co-operators General Insurance Company (CGIC).
  • Leading the research, documentation, recommendation and implementation of acquisitions, divestitures and complex transactions
  • Being a key contact for External Audit during annual audit processes
  • Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with key business partners.
  • Providing support to senior management (e.g.. CFO, VP Finance) on accounting issues
  • Coaching and developing your team, recruiting and selecting talent, managing and rewarding performance, and fostering an agile culture to deliver on strategic objectives.

To join our team:

  • You have five years of progressive experience in Financial Accounting and Reporting, including three years of experience as a people leader in the financial services industry.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Business or a related discipline.
  • You have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or a Chartered Accountant (CA) designation.
  • You have demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, and manage change.

Expected salary range $91,000 - $151,000.

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.​​

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
