As the Lead Data Integration Specialist, you will lead various initiatives by engineering data solutions for analytics purposes while also supporting the team through coaching using insurance data and advanced programming tools. You will be responsible for providing business value through the creation; maintenance; implementation of back-end data solutions (ie. Source System Data Store & Business Data Store) through the full software development lifecycle and effectively communicate said value to a business audience.
How you will create impact:
- Autonomously design and build physical data models and schemas from conceptual and business data models and requirements.
- Lead the design of analytic solutions, working with architects and solution designers and take responsibility for the work of junior resources.
- Define and promote designs of analytic solutions, considering scalability, automation, security, long-term maintainability and performance.
- Autonomously design data projects by breaking complex problems or high-level business objectives into smaller problems that can be addressed using data and lead the design of data engineering solutions, working with BI architects.
- Define and promote design principles based on the solution (ex: REST API) and best practice in terms of data handling (ex: security, governance), the SDLC (ex: unit testing), production code standards and meeting SLAs (ex: low latency responses).
- Be accountable that the outcome of the projects you lead meet the business objectives.
- Autonomously make recommendations and influence the audience towards an outcome.
To join our team:
- You have 10 years of experience in the Data Engineering/Integration or other related field.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any other relevant field.
- You have experience leading others to solve complex problems using analytical thinking, tools and judgment to identify innovative solutions.
- You have excellent knowledge and understanding of data analysis, programing, modeling techniques, data warehouse and data management, research, architecture and design.
- Experience with following technologies and environments is required: SQL, Python, Synapse, Databricks, ADLS and Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with following technology is an asset: PowerBI.
- This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Expected salary $104,717 - $154,700+
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
