Change the world. Love your job.

In your first year with TI, you will participate in the Career Accelerator Program (CAP), which provides professional and technical training and resources to accelerate your ramp into TI and set you up for long-term career success. Within this program, we also offer function-specific technical training and on-the-job learning opportunities that will encourage you to solve problems through a variety of hands-on, meaningful experiences from your very first day on the job.

At TI, Signal Processing Engineers are tasked with understanding the problems TI devices are expected to solve. In the early stages of product development, you would develop models (in MATLAB/python) to study approaches to a particular problem (say, the detection of cars at very long ranges using a radar). The result of this study would then feed into the design of a device (say the noise figure or transmit power). You may need to develop specific algorithms to accomplish the goal (say, a custom detection algorithm for instance). You would then work with the other members of the IC development team (design, applications, test, product engineers) to make sure that the device’s performance meets specifications. This stage would involve the development of bit-exact models to verify the behavior of the different sub-modules of the device. Finally, once the device is built, you will be involved in developing applications that demonstrate how the algorithms and the specifications you’ve device solve the specific problem the device is designed for.

In this system engineer role, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Develop Signal processing algorithms for a variety of challenging problems.

  • Field validation of the developed algorithms using TI radars.

  • Publish papers (both internally and externally) about the innovation.

  • Interact with customers all across the world who are looking forward to the algorithms and devices that solve their problems.

As a Systems Engineer, you will also get exposure to other roles such as: Applications Engineering, Product Marketing & Digital Marketing through formal learning, projects and on-the-job development experiences that will help you broaden your knowledge and accelerate your growth and success at TI.
