Texas Instruments is seeking a senior Design Automation Methodology Engineer to join our Foundry Services business. In this role, you will directly own, define and implement the Foundry Services design tool strategy. This role includes defining the infrastructure needed to provide real time customer support with the Foundry Services design methodology and tool flow environment install and usage.

This engineer will interface directly with key foundry customers to support their technical design challenges installing, using and navigating the TI design environment for foundry technologies and their associated PDKs (Process Design Kits). Foundry Services’ customers require support for all of the EDA tool vendor which brings a unique challenge as it deviates from the TI standard toolset.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Own, define and develop Foundry Services Design Automation methodology and implementation
  • Define TI infrastructure required to support foundry customers deign software tools and flows
  • Direct TI EDA support team in India regarding Foundry Services’ priorities and overall support needs
  • Manage EDA Tool venders support for Foundry Services
  • Lead activities to support design automation flows outside of the TI Cadence flows (eg Synopsys and Siemens tool flows)
  • Lead customer technical support for foundry customers regarding installation and usage of the TI technology PDKs with the TI foundry design environment by assessing the customer needs, gaps, providing training, and supporting design flow challenges in a timely manner.
  • Support design flow related questions as related to TI Technology PDK capabilities during the evaluation process for new customers.
  • Responsibility to create FAQs, customer-oriented documentation to enable self service support for common challenges.
  • Strong organizational knowledge and awareness to partner with various cross functional teams across ATD, EDA, IT and other subject matter expert support groups to enable foundry customers design
  • Leverage customer feedback to enhance foundry support infrastructure in the future by addressing gaps and design flow improvements
  • Troubleshoot customer issues real time within their design automation environment to enable design with the TI PDKs, , silicon validation, and ramp to production

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering or related degree
  • 10 years of relevant design automation experience
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Deep technical understanding of both EDA Design Automation tool environments and TI technology PDKs
  • Strong technical background with the ability to produce high quality technical documentation
  • ITAR Restriction: All candidates for this ITAR restricted position must be one of the following: US Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, Refugee or otherwise lawfully admitted under an amnesty program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens Design Automation tool usage experience
  • Strong experience working directly with customers
  • Ability to lead large cross functional teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to manage external EDA tool vendors support for Foundry Services
  • Ability to establish strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders critical to success, both internally and externally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate and influence management and engineering level decision makers
  • Strong technical background with expertise in IC Design EDA Tools, IC design flows, and process technologies
  • Quick learner with ability to ramp on new technologies
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management and execution skills that enable on-time project delivery
