In your first year with TI, you will participate in the Career Accelerator Program (CAP), which provides professional and technical training and resources to accelerate your ramp into TI, and set you up for long-term career success. Within this program, we also offer function-specific technical training and on-the-job learning opportunities that will encourage you to solve problems through a variety of hands-on, meaningful experiences from your very first day on the job. The TMG Development program is a 12-month program for new college graduates in the TMG organization.

Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an energetic, service minded engineer, who enjoys helping others to succeed by providing quality-assurance support to customers, service teams, assigned production operations and programs to ensure that TI's products are built in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow.

The Field Quality Application Engineer (FQAE) is responsible for resolving customer application issues related to suspected non-conformance of Texas Instruments (TI) components. This role focuses on debugging top offending returns, isolating application-level problems, and driving them to resolution. The FQAE provides early technical support to prevent systemic issues and ensures effective problem-solving through remote and onsite debug activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Judge potential product quality issues through customer system/application level analysis
  • Develop and enhance local bench verification capabilities/tools for broad TI devices, and verify customer returns on bench timely
  • Perform remote and onsite debug support to isolate non-conforming behavior of TI component
  • Provide EOS and TNI debug support
  • Work closely with customers to replicate and diagnose failures, and understand application environments and failure scenarios
  • Collaboration with FA (Failure Analysis) teams to confirm root causes
  • Driving quality improvement programs with customers
  • Conduct trainings, workshops and work proactively with customers on failure avoidance, failure diagnosis and safe launch

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related engineering fields of study
  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher

Preferred qualifications:

  • MS in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Broad experience with TI products, especially FPD-Link, BMS, high voltage gate driver, isolated amplifiers, LED and audio portfolios
  • Experience/understanding of applications boards, schematics and layouts with hands-on experience in oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and bench testing
  • Knowledge of semiconductor FA technology, semiconductor manufacturing process and automotive industry standard/requirement
  • Knowledge of PCB design, signal integrity, and failure analysis methodologies
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer communication abilities, and global cross-functional team’s collaboration
  • Fluent in English
