Change the world. Love your job.

TI's FAST (Field Applications & (Technical) Sales Trainee) Development Program was specifically designed to prepare future employees in the areas of technical sales and application engineering for their customer-oriented careers. The program trains both technical skills and business perspectives. As part of the FAST program, you will have the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience that will help you understand how you can positively influence the company's success and how you can be successful throughout your career at TI.

After successfully completing this track in the FAST development program, rotators are welcomed as Technical Sales Representatives in TI's global Sales & Applications team.

Your responsibilities as a Technical Sales Engineer / Account Manager:

  • Building good, long-term customer relationships and managing all commercial aspects
  • Understanding TI's commercial characteristics and building knowledge of when and how these can be converted into customer benefits to enable sales growth
  • Building a close partnership with the Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to win new orders together as a team
  • Using technical knowledge to drive customer management and support the FAE in finding the right solution for the customer
  • Using market knowledge and data insights to discover new business opportunities and independently develop creative ways to tap into new opportunities
  • General system understanding to identify which components fit into a system and work effectively with your FAE to win both single and multi-sourced devices
  • Develop, forecast, and monitor a strategic long-term plan for revenue growth

You will start as a Technical Sales Representative (TSR) through our FAST development program:

This 8-month trainee program prepares future sales engineers (Technical Sales Associates (TSAs)) to successfully build and maintain customer relationships and influence technical decisions to further drive TI's business success. The trainee program includes 4 rotations:

Rotation 1: Assignment at your local sales office (Field Sales Office (FSO)), 4 months:

During the 4-month rotation at the FSO, the TSA is part of a local sales team and gains in-depth insight into TI's sales processes. TSAs work closely with customers and (international) internal teams to win every opportunity for project development and implementation at the customer for TI. During this rotation, the TSA gains access to our unique “Virtual Account” system, which helps the TSA learn how to identify, define, and win projects.

Rotation 2: Assignment at the Mass Market team in your local sales office (FSO), 2 months:

The 2-month rotation in the mass market division teaches essential sales strategies for greater scaling and efficiency. Here you will learn prioritization, time management, and how to handle direct customer interaction and virtual sales. In addition, this rotation encourages bold action and the use of automation and innovation to optimize processes and increase sales success.

Rotation 3: Stay in the Business Unit (BU) and Systems Engineering & Marketing (SEM) team, 5 weeks:

This 5-week rotation provides insight into the Business Unit (BU) and Systems Engineering (SEM). During this time, you will learn about the 3-vector approach and product life cycles from development to support, among other things. In addition, you will gain exclusive insight into the work of the Business Unit and Systems Engineering and their roles in the respective sales processes.

Rotation 4: Headquarters Experience, 3 weeks – Dallas (USA):

The rotation in Dallas will give you a closer look at TI and our headquarters. The main focus here is on building a multi-level network with key stakeholders in support functions, the Business Unit (BU), and Systems Engineering. Experience the impressive Dallas campus and learn how to make the most of all TI resources.
