TI’s Law Department is seeking a highly motivated attorney with experience in sanctions and export controls to join our legal team. This role will place you in a dynamic environment supporting a global semiconductor business where you will serve as a trusted advisor, helping TI leaders navigate sanctions and export control measures worldwide.
In this role, you will be an individual contributor serving as a subject matter expert, providing legal advice and guidance relating to worldwide sanctions and export controls. The position may be based in either TI’s Dallas office or TI’s D.C. office, reporting to a Dallas-based Assistant General Counsel. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of global sanctions and export controls, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively work with stakeholders. The position requires travel globally. Candidates must have a law degree and be admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
Roles and responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance to stakeholders, including TI’s global trade compliance organization, relating to sanctions and export controls.
- Advise on internal policies and procedures.
- Track, analyze, and proactively communicate new sanctions and export controls globally.
- Provide legal advice on changes to sanctions and export controls, including coordinating with stakeholders to assess impact to TI.
- Prepare a variety of written communications such as legal updates.
- Maintain strong communications channels between relevant internal teams.
- Some domestic and occasional international travel required.

Minimum requirements:
- Law degree from an accredited law school (JD or LLM)
- Licensed to practice law
- At least 5 years practicing law, with relevant experience in sanctions and export controls
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong understanding of existing and emerging sanctions and export controls worldwide
- Ability to give practical, strategic, business-oriented advice and recommendations
- Ability to establish strong relationships and to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders
- Strong time management skills that enable executing with urgency on critical projects
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive for results
