Come join our Automotive Connectivity Solutions Applications team and help drive the development and adoption of our wireless microcontrollers for both Car Access, Wireless Battery Management Systems (WBMS) and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). You will be an integral part of our team leading the revolution of connectivity in automotive use cases and specifically be involved in our team focused on Bluetooth Low Energy and our TI WBMS Protocol. We’re searching for an experienced SW application engineer who has the passion and excitement to grow in this position, innovate, and take an active role in supporting automotive customers as they design, ramp and manufacture their products with TI connectivity products inside. This position requires someone who enjoys working in an international environment and brings a positive “can do” attitude to their objectives.
In this position you’ll work with closely with TI customers to determine their design challenges and partner with them on creating solutions, design optimization and improving their products. This can involve travelling to the customer and working together on-site to solve any issues and deliver presentations both in-house and onsite. You will spend hands-on time in a world-class lab tackling technical challenges and delivering innovative development solutions that support our products and drive revenue.
Responsibilities Include:
- Working with Automotive Tier 1s and OEMs to design and implement next generation wireless connectivity applications in Car Access and TPMS.
- Direct, high-volume technical customer support through Sales and FAE collaboration and on-site as required for critical engagements
- Work with systems engineers to provide support to early design in activities for new products
- Provides input for future product development based on customer application specifications and market trends
- Collaboration with hardware and software design teams to support customer needs, implement custom features in FW, build/design/document/test application hardware/software solutions
- Providing support through forum and direct customer contact, design review of customer applications and resolution of customer issues by re-creating/debugging to root-cause
- Accelerating the customer development process by ensuring that customers’ technical requirements are met and problems resolved.
- Creating collateral like application notes, software documentation, training and webinars for enabling a broad customer base for TI.
- Promote TI products and provide appropriate technical solutions to customers to solve their design challenges
- Design build and develop end equipment specific demonstrations for OEMs/Tier 1s, tradeshows, etc. to demonstrate value proposition and differentiation

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 3 years of relevant experience in embedded programming and wireless communication
- Proficiency in programming with C. C++ and python is a plus
- Experience in application support of embedded RTOS products. (TI-RTOS, FreeRTOS, Linux…etc)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both of Mandarin and English.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts
- Experience with lab/debugging equipment, like protocol Air sniffer, oscilloscopes, logic analyzer along with debugging skills
- Proficiency in the protocol of Bluetooth Low Energy.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with other any wireless protocols such as a WiFi, Zigbee, Thread or proprietary protocols
- Experience with automotive BLE PEPS applications and relevant technical expertise, e.g. connection monitor ranging, handover, channel sounding ranging.
- Experience with Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning or other algorithms development.
- Experience with wired protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C, CAN/CAN-FD and LIN
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Git
- Strong technical background, with the ability to understand complex system and protocol specifications and produce high quality technical documentation
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment across job functions, taking initiative and driving overall results
- Proven experience developing, and debugging embedded firmware, software frameworks, and APIs
- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery per commitments
- Experience with RF / Hardware debug, board/PCB bring up.
