As Vision AI Engineer in Smart Manufacturing Automation (SMA) team at Texas Instruments, you will be part of a high-performing team responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining AI vision inspection systems to ensure quality control and product reliability across semiconductor manufacturing lines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Project Leadership & Planning: Drive end-to-end implementation of AI vision inspection systems, including project scoping, timeline management, cross-functional resource allocation, and stakeholder communication to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • System Deployment & Qualification: Lead installation, commissioning, and qualification of AI vision inspection systems, ensuring compliance with TI’s quality standards and seamless integration into production lines.
  • Algorithm Development & Optimization: Design, customize, and fine-tune image processing and AI-based algorithms for defect classification using advanced machine vision and deep learning frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, YOLO, etc.).
  • Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Monitor system KPIs such as false call rates and escape rates; apply statistical and data-driven methods to enhance inspection accuracy and throughput.
  • Technical Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Provide expert-level support for AI vision inspection related issues, conduct root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to maintain system reliability.
  • •Data Analytics & Reporting: Utilize data analytical tools to analyze defect trends, yield performance, and provide actionable insights for management reviews.
  • Standardization & Best Practices: Develop and maintain SOPs, enforce standardization across multiple production lines, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Innovation & Technology Roadmap: Stay ahead of emerging vision technologies, AI techniques, and automation trends; propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in vision AI/ML DevOps.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or equivalent languages.
  • Experience in deploying AI/ML models in production environments, including edge devices or cloud-based systems
  • Excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work Arrangement: This is a full-time onsite role at the Texas Instruments Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur

Preferred qualifications/skills:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Experience in advanced computer vision techniques, such as deep learning for image classification, segmentation and object detection.
  • Experience in AI model explainability, trustworthiness, and validation in industrial contexts.
  • Experience in generative AI.
  • Experience in full stack AI development.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor back-end manufacturing processes, including assembly, packaging, and testing.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Proven track record of publications, patents, or conference presentations in AI/ML applications for manufacturing.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum education (ie bachelor's degree in electrical engineering)
  • Minimum of XX years of experience.
