Overview
This position requires someone with excellent analytical and technical skills with the ability to recognize issues and take practical corrective action. Proven skills in handling multiple tasks and working within specified timelines are required. The candidate must possess excellent business acumen and be able to develop positive working relationships with the areas supported.
Position Overview
The position will be part of the TDS Management Reporting work stream. In-depth understanding of the Wholesale business is required for this role. The ability to lead, analyze information and make decisions and manage complex reporting and deadline oriented deliverables is required. There are requirements for monthly analysis of revenue and expenses for IHC and TDS USA, quarterly presentations for TDS USA management team and TDGUS Board, and adhoc requests. An understanding of Wholesale Banking/Capital Markets businesses, products and associated balance sheet, P&L is required.
Specifically, this role will support certain management reporting deliverables as outlined below and be responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of submission of reports in production to senior management and regulators. The role will also participate in developing strategies and tools to support the business and will support management reporting needs.
The individual will have a wide array of exposure to TD including finance, operations, compliance, etc. and as a result, gain valuable cross-organizational knowledge. The individual will also learn about TDS USA on a comprehensive basis as reporting requires in-depth understanding of entire balance sheets, P&L, as well as transactional data.
Specific Accountabilities Include:
Lead the quarterly forecasting, annual planning, business casing, and medium-term outlooks in support of TDS while also finding opportunities to enhance surrounding processes
Oversee completion of the monthly reporting packages and design value-added management reporting to provide insightful interpretation of key business drivers underlying the business results, highlight key issues and make appropriate recommendations where required
Production and presentation of executive-level material to CFO and VPs/EVP, and responding to specific questions
Conduct insightful, driver-based analysis of the Wholesale business revenues, expenses, including FTE
Provide support to business leaders in developing strategic priorities and defining long-term business objectives while effectively communicating relevant and meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes
Coordinate with various stakeholders across product, strategy, business development, contact centre and marketing to collect, analyze and compile forecast / budget information
Effectively communicate relevant and meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes
Act as subject matter expert for own area. Provide guidance, advice, and recommendations to support dealings with internal and external partners
Active participation in Finance initiatives (where appropriate)
Specific Requirements / Accreditations:
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and delegate complex deadline oriented tasks
Minimum Bachelor degree in Business/Accounting/Financial Management
Proven analytical skills and sound judgment in a dynamic business environment
Have ease with balance sheet and P&L analytics and demonstrates strong core accounting skills relative to financial statement presentation.
The ability to translate high volumes of /complex reporting requirements and data into simple, consistent, and sustainable processes
Strong sense of process and data governance and strong attention to details
Highly motivated individual with a proven track record to deliver results.
High level of curiosity to learn
Understanding of Wholesale Banking/Capital Markets businesses, products and associated balance sheet, P&L
Collaborative, team player with ability to work individually
Demonstrates the ability to manage up and laterally with business partners
Good knowledge of Wholesale processes in Finance, CMRM, MRC, Operations, and BLAR
Strong Excel skills required
Familiarity with accounting standards and management reporting would be an asset
Confident facilitation skills and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate working with business and senior management at all levels
The VP - Finance Manager, TDS provides a range of strategic Finance advice, analysis and support for key business areas/portfolios as assigned. Proactively manages senior relationships in order to provide seasoned and deep business insights, decision support and guidance and works closely with various stakeholders and team members as required.

Scope of role may have pan-business impact and focus is on comprehensive reviews, specialized analysis, audits and/or initiatives with a yearly time span
Accountable for conducting financial analysis/research, reviews and/or audits to support functional goals/objectives
May act as interface with Finance partners/leaders and external parties
Serves as a source of advice to senior management in field of specialty; may lead team(s) of related specialists/experts
Undertakes and completes a variety of complex projects and initiatives requiring seasoned business partner specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertise

Education & Experience:
Undergraduate degree
7+ years of relevant experience
Accounting or financial designation preferred
Customer Accountabilities:
Works closely with business partners to gain deep understanding of the business and relevant objectives in order to contribute to the strategic direction of respective business and/or the enterprise
Formulates relevant and meaningful data analysis through comprehensive data visualization tools, profiling tools, segmentation, as well as leveraging advanced modeling and analytics
Leads on the interpretation of complex business issues, generates multifaceted insights and identifies opportunities to help drive business growth or address business/enterprise needs
Effectively communicates relevant/meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes to all levels within the organization
Acts as a subject matter expert for LOB Finance area supported and provides guidance/advice and recommendations to support dealings with internal/external partners
Identifies and develops key business performance measures or metrics for own area and ensures benchmark/best practice information is shared with appropriate parties
Works to maximize shareholder value by developing key strategies/tactics for own unit and by conducting business and/or financial analysis to support key business decisions and the achievement of business partner or department objectives
Leverages advanced data and analytics where possible to ensure business leaders are provided with comprehensive information to enable strategic decision support
Develops and/or assesses significant business cases/new initiatives applying expertise and ensuring criteria for own area are met (e.g., taxation, accounting practices, forecasted rates of return, evaluate outcomes, test assumptions, interface with others for appropriate input, identify benchmarks)
