Reporting to the Manager, Small Business Banking Finance, the incumbent’s primary roll will be providing Finance advisory support to the SBB Lending team through value-added analysis, performance reporting and robust business analysis with emphasize on Interpreting & Advising. This position requires strong business acumen, substantial problem-solving and analytical capabilities, combined with strong communication and relationship-building skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Utilizing strong business acumen and analytical capabilities support partner initiatives by developing / implementing new financial models, methodologies, and frameworks to support on-going reporting, audit and analysis for SBB
  • Reporting financial results monthly in an accurate and timely manner incorporating value-added commentary and analysis. Participate in management meetings interacting with senior leadership.
  • Play a key role in guiding business results, strategy and decision-making capabilities through identifying business opportunities and risks, variances to forecast/plan, and discussions with business leaders. Ensure that the forecast is consistent with SBB's strategic objectives
  • Driving a harmonized annual channel planning process in partnership with product and channel management
  • Building relationships with the other Business Banking partners, Product Managers, Regional Senior Managers, and non-Business Banking partners (i.e. Finance, Risk Management, TBSM, PMO)
  • Promote a positive work environment that encourages productivity, innovation, creativity and teamwork
  • Maintain industry, external and internal business awareness, recognizing and anticipating trends, identifying issues and opportunities, and recommending actions
  • Identify and understand challenges – both internal and external to the business - and make value-added financial recommendations where appropriate

Additional Information

  • Sound understanding of wholesale banking products including derivative instruments and a good grasp of quantitative data analysis
  • An independent thinker with strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to solve complex issues
  • Self-starter; willingness to take initiatives for continuous learning and development
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Access; experience in analyzing large data sets using SQL/Access
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:

  • CFA, CPA or FRM designation preferred
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred
