Job Description:

The Director – Host-to-Host (H2H) Channel Owner will be responsible for defining, delivering, and operating TD's next-generation host-to-host bulk file payment transmission solution. This role will lead the end-to-end strategy and execution, from assessing target-state capabilities through proof-of-concept testing, to full-scale implementation and migration. The Director will act as the business and technical owner for the H2H channel, ensuring it meets the needs of multiple business lines and aligns with the our strategic payments roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Target-State Definition

- Lead the assessment of current host-to-host capabilities and industry best practices.
- Finalize a target-state solution recommendation, balancing customer needs, operational efficiency, security, and scalability.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define business requirements and success criteria.

2. Proof of Concept & Vendor Engagement

- Evaluate potential technology vendors and solutions through structured proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Manage RFI/RFP processes, vendor negotiations, and technology viability assessments.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership for investment decisions.

3. Roadmap Development & Implementation

- Develop an integration roadmap for rolling out the target-state H2H / bulk file transmission solution across multiple business lines.
- Collaborate with technology, operations, compliance, and product teams to ensure a seamless implementation.
- Create and execute a detailed customer migration plan to transition from legacy systems.

4. Channel Ownership & Operations

- Serve as the product and operational owner of the H2H channel once implemented.
- Oversee day-to-day performance, service levels, incident resolution, and enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, security, and risk management requirements.
- Continuously monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitive offerings to inform ongoing product evolution.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in payments, cash management, or related financial services roles, with direct experience in host-to-host or bulk file transmission solutions strongly preferred
- Proven track record in product ownership or channel management, from strategy through operational execution
- Strong understanding of payment formats (e.g., ISO 20022, NACHA, SWIFT), security protocols, and connectivity methods (SFTP, API, VPN)
- Experience leading vendor evaluations, proof-of-concept testing, and complex technology integrations
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
