Department Overview

As part of Global Compliance, Privacy, along with other risk and oversight partners provide objective guidance, independent challenge, and risk-based oversight of TD's compliance with applicable privacy laws, rules, and regulations (LRRs). Privacy plays a key role supporting TD's Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Framework which sets out the structures, processes and key control elements through which Risk Owners and Oversight Functions globally are expected to manage and mitigate regulatory compliance risk inherent in their business or corporate segment activities.

Privacy's mandate is to promote a culture of privacy compliance through global and jurisdictional policies, standards, and guidelines that: (i) align to regulatory requirements and TD's Enterprise RCM Framework and related Standards; (ii) reinforce enterprise-wide privacy accountability; and (iii) are adaptable to regulatory change and the evolving needs of our businesses.

The Privacy Insights and Reporting team, as part of Global Privacy Operations, leads and coordinates reporting activities in addition to ad hoc requests from Compliance Program Management (CPM) and other partners.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Privacy Insights and Reporting, this role provides specialized reporting and business intelligence support to the broader Privacy team.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead Privacy's engagement in the Compliance Strategic Insights and Reporting (CSIR) team's reporting processes including the Global Compliance Board and Senior Management Reporting Procedures.

  • Maintain, and execute against, Global Privacy Operation's Board & Senior Management Audit Committee of the Board (ACoB) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Reporting Support Process.

  • Facilitate updates to the CSIR team for Senior Executive Team (SET)/Chief Risk Officer (CRO)/Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) reporting.

  • Participation in the CSIR team's Insights Meetings and validating Privacy content.

  • Lead the development and socialization of Privacy's Horizontal Risk View in collaboration with the broader Privacy team.

  • Metric development and data insights, including from within Privacy and from other risk and oversight functions.

  • Leverage and analyze various data sources to generate insights on the state regulatory compliance for privacy LRRs, including key risks, themes, trends, and regulatory developments.

  • Validate the quality and integrity, and maintain a repository, of the data included in reporting packages.

  • Support engagement of the team in self-reflection and continuous improvement to determine how insights from reporting processes inform our program priorities and activities.

  • Support the review and response to ad hoc requests from Compliance Program Management (e.g., Compliance mandates, etc) and other partners (e.g., Dow Jones Index, ESG Sustainability Report, etc).

  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and be an ambassador for TD's privacy program across the organization.

  • Contribute to, and support, the execution of Privacy's strategy and programs.

  • Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences, leveraging best practices, and identifying ways to innovate our processes.

  • Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Privacy governance documentation (e.g., policies, standards, guidelines, and processes).

  • Lead/support special projects, as required.

Other Qualifications/Skills/ Experience:

  • Extensive experience with data analysis and the use of reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Excel, PowerBI, Tableau) is essential for this role.

  • Strong ability to:

    • Determine relevant data sets and the most appropriate type of analysis to draw meaningful insights and compelling dashboards to effect data driven decision making; and

    • Propose relevant metrics, including thresholds, to highlight privacy considerations within RCM and Privacy program activities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact at various levels of the organization and tailor communications to the intended audience.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced/evolving environment.

  • Strong ability to:

    • work independently, think critically, and make decisions; and

    • build and maintain relationships, work collaboratively, influence and build consensus across a number of stakeholders to drive creative and responsive solutions.

  • Highest personal and professional integrity and standards to advance TD's vision and protect the brand.

Education and Accreditation

  • Undergraduate degree with 7+ years of professional experience.

  • Background in Privacy, Compliance or Risk would be considered an asset.
