The TDAF Commercial team is comprised of three core pillars: Commercial Sales, Commercial Credit, and Commercial Operations. Together, these pillars deliver end-to-end solutions that address the unique needs of auto dealers across the country. Credit exposure within the portfolio spans real estate and acquisition financing, operating credit, floor plan financing, lease lines, and equipment financing.
At the heart of TDAF’s success is the Commercial Operations team, which is composed of banking and automotive industry experts. This team provides critical servicing, auditing, credit monitoring, and operational support to all clients nationally, ensuring a seamless experience for dealers across Canada.

Job Description
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Dealer Credit Monitoring, the Credit Analyst (known internally as Dealer Credit Monitoring Analyst) will be a key resource in our Dealer Credit Monitoring team within Commercial Operations group. The role offers a strong foundation for career progression within TD Auto Finance, with a clear path to transitioning into Commercial Credit Analyst role where you would gain the opportunity to work on a diverse range of deal sizes, from ~$15mm for smaller single location dealerships to over $250mm for large multi-store groups.
The Dealer Credit Monitoring Analyst will be fully responsible for monitoring the credit risk within the portfolio. The position works closely with a team of automotive & banking specialists to support a portfolio of with a focus on assessing and managing the overall health of the portfolio. Tasks include:
- Dealer Credit Monitoring Analyst will manage a portfolio of 60-80 commercial clients and supports various relationship management teams nationally.
- Accountable for all aspects of ongoing and daily monitoring & control to ensure proper credit risk exposure, including accuracy of loan position and sufficient availability to facilitate funding requests. Ongoing monitoring and control activities include monthly financial statement & covenant analysis of the portfolio, daily overline / excess management, and utilization of various credit monitoring reports to ensure the risk is within credit tolerances.
- Ensure timely receipt of financial statement and diligent analysis including identification of emerging and notable risk events promptly.
- Escalate concerns/issues to management as necessary, including but not limited to unsatisfactory audits, poor financial performance metrics, and inventory issues. Provide comments as necessary for actions to be taken to resolve/mitigate the concern.
- Liaise with TDAF Commercial Credit and Commercial Sales teams to provide them with ongoing updates and escalate any issues within the assigned portfolio of clients.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with designated portfolio of clients, inventory auditing teams, relationship & account managers and the broader TDAF team.
- Support clients by providing a high level of customer service through direct interaction and administrative support providing solutions & problem resolution to assist them in meeting their objectives
- Provide assistance to other departments as required including Commercial Operations and Commercial Credit.
Education & Experience
- Prior commercial credit experience or wholesale floor plan finance experience in the automotive industry
- Education in accounting / finance key to success in this position
- Understanding of general Accounting Statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement) and key financial ratios
- Strong financial analysis and portfolio management skills
- Strong relationship, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong priority-setting skills.
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proficiency in CARMA a definite asset
