TDS Technology Solutions

As TDS’ Technology Solutions (TS) continues to evolve, we remain focused on implementing greater governance around our planning, development, delivery, measurement and reporting activities. Our goal is to run our IT shop as a business, have the right tools and information to improve our productivity and value across all TD lines of business.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Partner with multiple technology teams, business owners to develop digital client platform, roadmap and deliver strategic solutions.
  • Liaise with the business stakeholders on requirements and serve as subject matter expert for the product.
  • Act as product manager and champion for the platform’s end-user experience
  • Complete in-depth analysis on TDS applications requirement and their overall impact on the delivery.
  • Provide end-to-end test case development for developers and end-users
  • Work on Audit finding and close the gaps.
  • Participation as required in supporting TDS & TBSM for implementing enterprise strategic objectives and initiatives.
  • Assist TDS TS technology (or TDS business if required) in meeting the applicable TD technology and security controls to address audit and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate thematic/systemic remediation efforts for TDS and TBSM TS through Risk or Audit Factory to ensure the open risk and audit items are close on time.
  • Lead discussion groups with business users to provide best of the breed solution to the business problems
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and project managers
  • Work effectively as a team, supporting other team members in achieving project/ business objectives and providing client services
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes customer service, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
  • Develop business and technical documentation to be implemented by global development teams
  • Lead in business analysis to address cross-regional requirements
  • Oversee and/or execute test scripts within the testing environment, ensuring defects are logged, and documented for Developer corrections
  • Establish and/or follow established testing procedures, standards and processes.
  • Provide expert knowledge of testing to projects in which QA is engaged/ required
  • Lead in knowledge transfer within the team, and business units globally
  • Sound technical knowledge and analytical skills
  • Essential:
    • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience in technology at major financial institutions.
    • Capital Markets experience
    • Business Analysis experience in Capital Markets
    • Strong analytical skills to identify control weaknesses or root causes and recommend effective and pragmatic solutions to address risk and control issues.
    • Adaptable to changing priorities and ad hoc requests.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Collaborative and engaging personality who can partner well with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Motivated and committed to drill down into risk and control issues with positive attitude.
    • Strong IT literacy and well versed with MS Word/Excel/Visio and PowerPoint.

The Business Systems Analyst performs systems analysis assignments with varying degrees of supervision. The Business Systems Analyst also provides complex technical business support to clients that utilize small/ midsize/enterprise level systems.

The VP TDS - Tech Solutions is accountable for day to day management of a team of IT professionals (including both permanent and contract resources) in supporting assigned business clients / internal partners / stakeholder needs and requirements. May be involved in negotiating technology costs and scope in forecasting, planning process with subset of business clients within an overall Segment CIO or within a key technology Functional area.

Depth & Scope:

  • Key role involved in negotiating technology costs and scope in forecasting, planning process with subset of business clients within an overall Segment CIO or within a key technology functional area
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of assigned business and bank technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications, platforms, services) and managing people / projects
  • Knowledgeable of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own business
  • Responsible for managing multiple teams and/or projects with increasing degree of complexity and broad scope (e.g., multi-function within line of business)
  • Works independently and often autonomously in the management of projects, teams and operational disciplines and develops strategic thinking/ planning in the execution of work plans with a short to medium term business perspective
  • Manages system enhancements, new releases or projects typically focused on a specific product/application of moderate scope and complexity
  • Manages/Leads a group (e.g., Less Than 25) of IT professionals (e.g., developers, analysts, specialists, administrators and project managers)
  • Orchestrates the development of resolutions, plans and strategies for operational advancement
  • Generally reports to Sr. Manager or Executive role

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • Graduate degree, preferred
  • 7 - 10 years related experience
