The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Service, the Service Technician is a member of the Quality and Service team, responsible for performing product service activities such as diagnostic triage, troubleshooting and repair/testing of returned products to Tantalus. The Service Technician supports Quality and Engineering investigation and testing of products and is responsible for maintaining the test jigs used in the above activities.
Location of Position:
This position will be based in our Burnaby, BC office.
Specifically, the Service Technician will:
- Perform triage and troubleshooting of returned products.
- Perform repairs and upgrades on returned products.
- Perform required visual review and verification tests on all repaired products prior to return to the end customer.
- Maintain/repair test jigs used in Quality and Service activities.
- Perform data entry of troubleshooting, repair and test results of products in service.
- Assist with receiving and shipping of products returned for service.
- Perform and assist in failure investigations and testing with Quality and Engineering teams.
- Assist other team members as needed.
What you Bring:
Education and Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology.
- A solid foundation in electronics and troubleshooting methodologies including the use of various test instruments.
- Understanding of analog and digital electronics.
- Understanding and experience with communications theory and products is an asset.
- Ability to solder surface mount and through-hole components at a high level of quality.
- Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems as a user.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience Desired:
- Experience with RF products is desirable and associated test instruments (signal generator, VNA, Spectrum analyzer etc).
- Experience with database basics, including configuration and maintenance and able to perform queries and generate reports.
