Job Title:- Lead ASIC Verification Engineer
We Are:
At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.
You Are:
You are an accomplished verification engineer with a deep passion for technology and innovation. With 8 to 12 years of experience in ASIC or IP core verification, you thrive in technically challenging environments and enjoy working at the intersection of cutting-edge protocols and advanced verification methodologies. You possess a robust understanding of VLSI design and verification flows, and you are adept at architecting, building, and debugging sophisticated test environments for high-performance silicon IP cores.
Your expertise spans multiple industry-standard protocols such as Ethernet, AMBA, SD/eMMC, DDR, PCIe, USB, MIPI, and DSC, with a particular edge if you have hands-on experience with Ethernet. You excel at translating functional and standard specifications into detailed micro-architectures, and you’re skilled at leveraging methodologies like UVM and OVM for testbench development. Your proficiency in SystemVerilog and object-oriented programming concepts is matched by your familiarity with scripting languages like Perl and Shell, and you’re comfortable working with revision control systems such as Perforce.
Collaboration is at your core—you are a team player who communicates clearly and effectively across global teams. You bring a constructive, solutions-oriented mindset to problem-solving and are motivated to mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your knowledge to uplift the collective strength of the team. You are committed to quality, continuous improvement, and inclusivity, embracing diverse perspectives to drive superior outcomes. If you are looking for a technical individual contributor role that offers both growth and the chance to make a tangible impact in the world of silicon IP, you will thrive in this opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Architecting and developing advanced testbenches for verification of complex protocol controllers within the DesignWare family of synthesizable IP cores.
- Translating standard and functional specifications into detailed micro-architectures and component designs for test environments.
- Driving verification tasks including testbench coding, test environment development, debugging, and verification coverage improvement using UVM/OVM methodologies.
- Analyzing coverage metrics and enhancing test cases within a Constrained Random Verification (CRV) environment to ensure comprehensive verification.
- Participating in and leading technical reviews of test environment code and contributing to process and quality improvements for high-quality deliverables.
- Mentoring and guiding junior engineers and interns, providing technical leadership for select components and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture.
- Collaborating with cross-site teams to deliver verification solutions for globally distributed projects, occasionally stepping into technical lead responsibilities.
The Impact You Will Have:
- Accelerate the delivery and integration of high-quality, feature-rich silicon IP into customer SoCs, driving faster time-to-market for innovative products.
- Ensure robust verification coverage and high standards of quality, reducing risk and enhancing customer confidence in Synopsys IP solutions.
- Advance the technical capabilities and best practices within the team by introducing new methodologies, tools, and process improvements.
- Mentor and elevate junior engineers, strengthening the technical depth and collaborative spirit of the organization.
- Contribute to the development of IP that powers next-generation applications in IoT, AI, automotive, and mobile devices.
- Support Synopsys’ leadership in the silicon IP market by consistently delivering innovative, reliable, and differentiated verification solutions.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (BSEE/MSEE) with 8–12 years of relevant experience in ASIC/IP core or SoC verification.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SystemVerilog coding, simulation tools, and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Proven experience in verification of IP cores or SoC designs for applications such as set-top boxes, mobile handsets, and smart devices.
- In-depth knowledge of one or more industry-standard protocols: Ethernet, AMBA (AMBA2, AXI, CHI), SD/eMMC, USB, DDR, PCIe, MIPI, or DSC.
- Practical experience in architecting and implementing test environments using UVM/OVM methodologies, along with test, coverage, and assertion planning.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Perl, Shell) and revision control systems (e.g., Perforce).
- Exposure to quality processes and best practices in IP design and verification is an added advantage.
Who You Are:
- Excellent communicator with the ability to work effectively in diverse, global teams.
- Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality, reliable results.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and analytical approach to complex technical challenges.
- Team player who thrives in collaborative, multi-site environments and values knowledge-sharing.
- Natural mentor and leader, eager to support the growth and development of colleagues.
- Adaptable and open to new ideas, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:
You will join the Solutions Group at our Bangalore Design Center, a dynamic and innovative team at the forefront of silicon IP verification. The team is comprised of talented engineers who collaborate across global locations, sharing a commitment to technical excellence, continuous learning, and delivering world-class IP solutions. You’ll find an environment that values diversity, fosters mentorship, and encourages leadership at all levels.
Rewards and Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
