You Are:
You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong foundation in trade compliance and export control within the European regulatory environment. With a passion for ensuring seamless global operations, you thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings where accuracy and collaboration are essential. Your experience with EU export regulations and customs classification enables you to navigate complex compliance landscapes with confidence. You are adept at analyzing intricate data, applying regulatory knowledge, and communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to work independently is matched by your collaborative spirit, as you regularly partner with the compliance team, engineers, order management, sales, marketing, and other Synopsys folks in the various business units to ensure organizational objectives are met.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Monitor, analyze, and release system holds related to restricted party screening, sanctions, end-use/end-user, and other compliance restrictions using the Synopsys Global Trade Management tool Amber Road/Trade Automation.
- Support and consult with internal and external customers, providing timely and accurate responses to import/export compliance questions and issues in line with company policy.
- Collaborate with senior compliance personnel to implement and maintain trade compliance management systems, policies, procedures, and work instructions that meet local and international regulations.
- Determine Harmonized Tariff Schedules, ECCN classifications, and country of origin for new materials, products, parts, marketing materials, and hardware.
- Monitor export license expirations, support the drafting of export license applications, and gather required country export data for periodic government reporting.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of corrective actions identified during assessments and investigations, ensuring ongoing compliance improvement.
- Pull and analyze data from various systems to support the development of compliance metrics and reporting.
- Maintain accurate export and import records as required by law and company policy.
- Perform other duties and projects as requested or assigned to support the broader Legal and Compliance function.

- Empower colleagues and partners with clear guidance and responsive support on trade compliance matters.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-4 years of experience working with export regulations, particularly EU 2021/821.
- 1-3 years of experience in customs classification and familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedules and ECCN.
- Strong proficiency with the MS Office suite, especially Excel and data analysis tools.
- Experience with automated trade compliance systems, such Trade Automation, Amber Road or other denied party screening tools (preferred).
- Ability to plan, organize, and analyze complex information with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate records and supporting audit processes.
