About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to support our Finance team as a Chief Financial Officer, EMEA based in the Netherlands. The Chief Financial Officer, EMEA, is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation across the EMEA region. This role partners closely with regional and global leadership to provide financial insights, ensure robust planning and forecasting, and support data-driven decision-making. The Chief Financial Officer will lead the FP&A and Management Accounting functions within the region, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and performance analysis. They will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, optimizing cost structures, and supporting growth initiatives, including franchise operations, new market entries, and digital transformation. This role requires a commercially astute finance leader with deep experience in multi-country operations, preferably within franchising, QSR, retail, or consumer sectors. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, operational finance expertise, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strategic leadership and business partnering:
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to the senior leadership team in the EMEA region, providing strategic financial input for key business decisions.
- Analyze financial performance, market trends, and business initiatives to identify opportunities for growth, margin improvement, and operational efficiency.
- As requested, lead financial due diligence for potential partnerships.
- Develop and execute the finance strategy to align with the company's regional and global objectives.

Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
- Lead and manage the entire budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning process for the region.
- Present consolidated financial results and performance commentary to regional and global senior management on a regular basis.
- Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, leveraging data analytics to deliver timely and accurate financial insights

Governance, controls and compliance
- Liaise with relevant departments on finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury management.
- Ensure adherence to local accounting standards and any applicable international standards (IFRS).
- Assist with the collation of relevant data for financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP (for corporate reporting).
- Have an understanding of financial analysis, with a focus on the EMEA region, and provide insights to senior management.
- In collaboration with the CAO, develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and policies to ensure financial integrity and compliance.

Technology and process transformation
- Champion finance transformation initiatives, including the automation of processes and the enhancement of financial systems.
- Drive improvements in financial and operational processes to increase efficiency and scalability.

Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Manage finance professionals across various functions, ensuring a strong talent pipeline.
- Set clear objectives and performance metrics for the finance team.
Qualifications (some examples listed below):
- MBA in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field is required.
- CPA, ACCA RA-trained preferred.
- 10 years of financial experience.
- 5+ years of experience in QSR, Multi unit operating models, Master Franchise industry.
- 6+ years of supervisory or managerial experience is a plus.
- Financial planning and analysis (FP&A): Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning. This includes developing complex financial models, managing scenario planning, and analyzing budget variances.
- Accounting and reporting: In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, particularly International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This includes preparing management reporting.
- Data analytics: Proficiency in interpreting large datasets to identify trends, predict outcomes, and provide actionable business insights. This often requires advanced skills in tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Risk management: The ability to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks. This also involves ensuring strong internal controls and managing compliance.
- Proven experience working in a global or regional role for a U.S.-based multinational company.
- Strategic thinking: The capacity to see the "big picture" and connect financial data to the company's overarching strategic goals. This involves contributing to corporate strategy and identifying opportunities for value creation.
- Financial strategy and business planning: Act as a key business partner to the Regional President, translating financial data into actionable business insights that drive regional strategy and growth initiatives.
- Executive decision support: Provide insightful financial analysis, forecasts, and performance evaluations to the Global CFO and Global CAO to support strategic decisions, budget management, and long-term business planning.
- Performance narrative and insight: Move beyond standard reporting by proactively identifying key business drivers, risks, and opportunities. Deliver a clear, concise narrative of financial performance to senior leadership, explaining the "why" behind the numbers.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with operational and commercial leaders across the region, providing financial expertise to guide operational and investment decisions that align with global financial objectives.
- Technology adoption: An understanding of modern financial and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP etc). Experience with emerging technologies like AI, RPA, and cloud computing is increasingly valuable.
- Process improvement: A proven track record in driving process optimization and efficiency initiatives, focusing on automation and scalable financial processes.
- Leadership and team development: The ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing finance team. This includes fostering accountability, providing clear career development, and managing talent.
- Communication and influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex financial information clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners.
- Problem-solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex financial challenges and find innovative solutions.
- Resilience and adaptability: The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market conditions and regulatory requirements.
