Job Summary: The IT Operations Specialist / ISSO provides day-to-day technical support for enterprise IT systems while also serving as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for classified systems. This dual-role position ensures smooth IT operations—including troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues—while maintaining compliance with security requirements in classified environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and Defender for enterprise operations.
Essential Job Functions:
Enterprise IT Operations Support
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, servers, telecommunication systems, and related peripherals.
- Provide Tier 1–2 end-user support through in-person, remote, and phone assistance.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights using Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory.
- Administer and support Intune for device management and Microsoft Defender for endpoint protection across enterprise systems.
- Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and backups.
- Support network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common connectivity issues.
- Track and resolve tickets using the company’s ITSM platform, ensuring timely response and resolution.
Classified Environment (ISSO Responsibilities)
- Serve as ISSO for classified systems in accordance with DoD and DCSA requirements.
- Support development and maintenance of security documentation (SSPs, POA&Ms, etc.).
- Conduct regular system audits, patching, malware updates, and security scans on classified systems.
- Perform quarterly security assessments of in-scope systems and document results.
- Ensure compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
- Act as a liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
- Support and report to the Corporate ISSM on all matters related to classified system security.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT operations or system administration.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Intune, and Microsoft Defender (enterprise IT only).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and RMF processes.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows environments, networking, and end-user devices.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.
- Prior ISSO or cybersecurity-related experience.
- Knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations.
Work Environment:
- Office and manufacturing floor environment.
- Some travel (<10%) may be required to support additional sites.
