We’re seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to join our cutting-edge team in Great Yarmouth. This is a great opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that are shaping the future of aerospace and defence.

In this pivotal role you’ll bring your expertise in microelectronics product and circuit design to support new product development whilst also enhancing and optimising existing designs.


Key responsibilities will include

  • Be the engineering lead for specific products and projects
  • Provide support for current and new products in manufacturing
  • Produce PCBA and thick film hybrid circuit layout for new customer owned and customer funded products based on customer design requirements
  • Generate full drawing packs and associated manufacturing documents to support the above
  • Update drawings and associated manufacturing document packs
  • Technical engagement and liaison with customers and design partners to ensure designs meet requirements
  • Participate in cost saving and continuous improvement activities
  • Actively improve or optimise aspects of design, function or processing of existing key products
  • Support other departments as required with issues relating to existing designs or testing and formulate effective solutions
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality and service of the engineering team.

Skills and experience required:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Strong electronics engineering background
  • Proven experience in electronics design and circuit layout
  • Practical understanding of microelectronics assembly – Desirable
  • High reliability microelectronics design and development experience - Desirable
  • Software design and programming - Desirable
  • Experience in aerospace or industries with similar requirements
  • Working knowledge of ECAD and MCAD e.g. Altium / Pantheon / Eagle / AutoCAD / SolidWorks/ Fusion 360 / Cam350 / GC Powerplace
  • Familiarity with PCBA techniques, thick film hybrid technologies and electronic test methodologies
  • Experience with ERP / MRP systems

Other requirements:

  • SC cleared or ability to obtain
  • Occasional travel to other Spectrum Control sites and customers as required
