JOB SUMMARY: A Quality Specialist schedules or accomplishes inspection, auditing as well as provides guidance to the Quality Staff and provides technical input for any quality related projects. They also assist in data collection and reporting services at the direction of the Quality Manager/Engineer.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in meeting customer requirements such as: interfacing with customers with correspondence regarding customer returns using failure mode information supplied by engineering.
  • Schedule and host source inspection for verification of product quality and conformance.
  • Assist in performing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions as needed.
  • Supervise Test Lab personnel in various activities including verifying product quality through receiving inspection, conformance testing, etc.
  • Review/create and maintain test reports and procedures for Quality Assurance.
  • Maintain Stamp Control System.
  • Train Quality personnel in effective and efficient test methods.
  • Provide technical support to Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing regarding product and process inspection, audit, sampling plans, process controls and statistical applications.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in AS9100 and MIL-STD 790 internal audits.
  • Process, follow-up, close Supplier Corrective Actions.
  • Complete approximately 10+ AS9102 Customer FAIR’s per month.
  • Perform end of line quality checks.
  • Maintain site mechanical calibration.
  • Support customer and UL Source Inspections.
  • Continual Operator Training in Production.
  • Perform random Production Line Audits.
  • Drive Supplier CAR completion.
  • Perform on-site supplier audits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Associate degree
  • Experience Years: 1-3 years
  • Experience Type: Electrical Engineering or Technology
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CQT Certification
  • Able to interpret customer drawings and specifications
  • Able to read and understand quality procedures written by others, mechanical drawings and other specifications
  • Able to record, organize and report data
  • Review and interpret safety data sheets
  • Understand and be able to use: sampling plans, elementary industrial statistics, statistical process control charting
  • Operation of computer and test inspection equipment

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is an on-site position in a manufacturing facility.
