SUMMARY: The Operations Team Lead is a working lead who is responsible for communicating company goals, safety practices, daily functions, and deadlines to the team. The Team Lead is responsible for guiding a team through a process from beginning to completion and for developing and implementing timelines to the team to ensure production goals are met. Leads delegate tasks as needed to others as well as themselves while also motivating team members to meet necessary deadlines and provide updates to Management on the project timeline. Leads are responsible for production and do not perform any supervisory functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Daily develop, implement & delegate tasks to the team (and themselves) to ensure deadlines are met.
- Update metric boards as necessary and manage workflow to meet daily/weekly performance targets.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and communicate any issues/concerns to mgmt.
- Ensure all team members understand daily/weekly objectives.
- Act as the liaison between team members and VSM/manager by resolving issues as needed, recognizing when issues need to be escalated, and creating open lines of communication.
- Perform a daily handoff/update to the next shift.
- Coach team members and train new operators.
- Audit production processes and team members’ work to verify processes and procedures are being followed.
- Monitor equipment performance as needed to ensure optimal production capability.
- Drive improvements to production processes by evaluating production, production failure, and customer returns with Quality Control and Process Engineering.
- Lead by example and engage the team to achieve goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Product knowledge and Industry experience
- Confident and clear verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to make decisions
- Ability to perform all functions within department
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a manufacturing position.
