JOB SUMMARY: The Processing Engineering Technician position entails maintaining and troubleshooting equipment while supporting the development of new processes and products in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include training production employees, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and collaborating with engineering teams to resolve issues. The role also emphasizes the importance of safety and lean manufacturing principles in optimizing workflows and processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for upkeep and troubleshooting for equipment.
- Perform experimentation with new methods and processes under guidance from Process Engineers.
- Support new process development such as new equipment installation and qualifications, material evaluations/qualifications, tooling/fixture development.
- Support new product development such as data creation and maintenance machine programming and reflow profiling.
- Train Production Employees on equipment processes.
- Ensure the manufacturing floor has the tools and procedures necessary to meet the company’s quality standard.
- Verify machine logs and product processing sheets to ensure records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
- Prepare charts, graphs and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling and machine utilization.
- Plan strategies for prioritizing individual workload in order to meet defined goals.
- Assist in implementing projects lead by Manufacturing/Process engineer.
- Work with Engineering and Manufacturing Personnel in resolving problems to the root cause.
- Assist Manufacturing in reconfiguring and optimizing workstations as needed.
- Responsible for considering overall safety requirements when developing assembly processes.
- Assist in developing a lean manufacturing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School or Equivalent required. Associates in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering encouraged.
- Experience: 3-5 years in lieu of degree or 0-1 year with degree
- Experience Type: Manufacturing and/or Quality/Process support role in a micro-electronics field
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge/certifications in Lean Six Sigma
