Overview

This position is for a Senior Solutions Engineer to own technical relationships with customers and prospects, which may involve evangelizing on a day-to-day basis in the integration space to a wide array of audiences, from C levels to developers. The Senior Solutions Engineer also drive and own Proof of Concepts with prospects for identified sales opportunities and helps customers and prospects familiarize with Solace technology from conceptual to hands-on levels.

This position will require travel based on customer needs, and sometimes globally. The individual will work closely with the sales team to support customers on a technical level, run customer presentations, customer trials, customer integration/architecture and help in the development of new accounts.

It is extremely crucial that candidates possess experience with configuring and building applications within the SAP Business Technology Platform, specifically:

• Experience with UI5
• Experience with Business Application Studio
• Experience with Business Process Automation
• Experience with Integration Suite

Candidates should be comfortably navigating/configuring the various services within the Business Technology Platform mentioned above. One of the primary aspects of this role will be to help customers understand how apply Event Driven Architecture to these various services would lead to more agile and modular enterprise.

As part of the application process, candidates will be expect to demonstrate/present a demo that they will build. This demo will involve publishing an event from an SAP application like UI5, the event will be used to trigger an iFlow in Realtime. More details to be provided but the demonstration should clearly articulate how an event driven approach can lend itself to adoption of Clean Core principles as outlined by SAP.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Undergraduate degree, ideally in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering; Master’s in science, Business or Engineering an asset.
• At least 8-10 years’ experience in technology/presales/technical strategy consulting roles in the integration space.
• Currently eligible to work in the US.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

• Ability to articulate technical concepts and solutions to various audiences, from CTOs/CIOs to Developers, evangelizing modern concepts to help transform traditional solutions, especially in the integration and digital domains.
• Solid presentation and white-boarding skills. This role is customer facing so the successful candidate must have solid presentation and communication skills and be ready to take on the challenges of a fast-moving, fast growing, and dynamic environment. Stakeholder engagement, as well as technical leadership team handholding, would be required. Presales experience would be an asset.
• Messaging Middleware/Integration – Understanding of the application middleware space. Technical knowledge of messaging products such as IBM MQ, TIBCO EMS/RV and/or Open Source messaging such as Rabbit, ActiveMQ etc. would be beneficial to the role. An understanding of SOA and JMS are essential and working knowledge of AMQP, REST, JavaScript, MQTT would all be assets.
• Enterprise Integration Patterns and Solution architecture experience would be an asset. Knowledge of Digital patterns, application lifecycle management, continuous integration.
• Domain knowledge (from a systems integration perspective) of FSI / Telecommunications / Transportation / Insurance / Manufacturing would be very useful.
• Application Integration with Java, JavaScript, ESB/API tools and/or C++/C
• Experience with software development in either Java or C++/C, SDKs and API integration.
• Working experience with Technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, PaaS platforms.
• Overall industry knowledge about Cloud, IoT, Big Data, Digital, networking and other topical technology domains would be beneficial.
