Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have an opportunity for a full time Specialist, Carrier Partnerships to join our Integrated Supply Chain Team based out of one of our office(s) across Canada. As a valued team member working in a hybrid environment you will be required to be on site either in office a minimum of three (3) days per week.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

· Analyze transportation company price quotes providing comparison on pricing and services
· Analyze the profitability of the backhaul and carrier pickup program through transportation cost review and vendor revenue analysis
· Communicate with vendors and carriers
· Initiate inbound freight negotiations with vendors
· Assist in the negotiation of transportation agreements
· Negotiate spot freight requirements as necessary to support quality and cost
· Facilitate custom issues while supporting quality and cost objectives
· Identify opportunities to leverage our transportation network and reduce cost
· Arrange freight for seasonal vendors
· Maintain data in TMS
· Assist in negotiations of transport carrier agreements/contracts
· Analyze profitability of backhaul and carrier pick up
· Identify opportunities to leverage transportation network and reduce costs

What you have to offer:

· Minimum 5 years progressive management experience in inventory control, transportation/ supply chain experience including international freight experience
· Relevant designation/ credentials in logistics, supply chain, and/ or transportation (CITT, CPIM or PMAC, ERP)
· Experience within large retailers, Distribution Centre and Warehouse operations
· Experience using current logistics technology as it applies to transportation management
· Knowledge of National and International transportation legislation including safety regulations
· Experienced with detailed financial management experience specifically P and L

The salary range for this position in British Columbia is $73,000.00 - $101,000.00 . We will consider factors such as your working location, work experience and skills as well as internal equity, and market conditions to ensure that you are paid fairly and competitively.
