Engineering Tech-Contract

Note: This is a contract position for six months

Skyworks is looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to assist Test Engineering Team in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada location supporting WiFi products. As a key contributor you will work in a team-based environment with other talented technicians and test engineers and work cross functionally with our product and design teams to help develop complete and innovative test solutions. The primary goal of this position is creating test set ups and implementing test procedures in automatic test equipment (ATE) to support our volume and cost goals. This includes verifying tests solutions focused on probe, package, and characterization testing. As Engineering Technician, you will help verify Automated Test Equipment (ATE) solutions for highly integrated RF modules. This role contributes to ensuring the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of next-generation RF products through robust test strategies and seamless deployment to global manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video circuits, and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

• Testing of Radio Frequency semiconductor products using Automatic Test Equipment
• Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment, including automated handlers.
• Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
• Assis in design, construction and test of test equipment

Job Requirements

• Associated degree preferred with 4 years of related experience
• Knowledge and hands on experience with RF testing using PAx Cohu or other RF testers
• Experience or familiarity with Z248 SRM handler operation and maintenance including 5S vision system
• Wafer probing experience would be an asset
• Excellent communication skill, ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Excellent organizational skills
• Must have team-oriented attitude, accountability and ownership
