Responsibilities

Platform & Technical Leadership

  • SAP Platform Management: Oversee and manage SAP S/4HANA Basis operations, SAP ECC Basis Operations, landscape management, system lifecycle, and refresh activities. Experience with the SAP RISE model is highly desirable.
  • Database Administration (DBA): Provide leadership and technical direction for enterprise-level database systems, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • High Availability (HA) & Business Continuity: Design, implement, and maintain robust High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity solutions for all critical platforms to ensure business resilience and meet RTO/RPO objectives.
  • System Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire system lifecycle, refresh, upgrades and landscape management process for all covered platforms. Drive SAP system lifecycle processes including installations, upgrades (ECC to S/4HANA), migrations, patching and sandbox builds, Kernel upgrades.
  • Building and Operationalizing Application and Database Systems monitoring for performance, availability and resiliency including SAP Solman and Dynatrace or similar monitoring technology platforms.

Financial, Planning, and Vendor Management

  • Budget Management: Own and manage the departmental operating and capital budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Lead negotiations and manage vendor contract renewals for platform-related software and services.
  • Annual Planning: Drive the Annual planning process for the platforms function, including resource forecasting, project prioritization, and technology roadmap definition.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • 24x7 Support & Incident Management: Ensure the team provides reliable, round-the-clock support. Drive process rigor in Incident, Change Control, Critical Incident, and Crisis Management, focusing on quick resolution and minimal business disruption.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives to implement continuous improvements in platform stability, performance, and automation.
  • Problem Solving: Act as the final escalation point for complex technical challenges, applying structured problem-solving methodologies to ensure root causes are identified and permanently addressed.
  • M&A IT Integration: Lead the IT planning, due diligence, and execution for the integration of acquired company systems into the core Skyworks platform landscape.

  • Talent Development: Focus on attracting, mentoring, and retaining top talent; develop team members' technical and soft skills to build a high-performing, resilient team.
  • Communication Skills: Utilize exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with and manage expectations of technical teams, executive stakeholders, and global partners.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Foster strong partnerships with Application, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure teams and ensure effective collaboration with global teams across the US, Mexico, and APAC.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role overseeing platform/infrastructure and/or DBA teams.
  • Technical Expertise (Must-Have Skills): Deep operational and architectural knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Basis, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. Familiarity with the SAP RISE cloud model.
  • M&A and Resilience: Proven experience in the IT workstream of M&A integration projects, and expertise in implementing HA, DR, and Business Continuity plans.
  • Management Skills: Demonstrated experience in budget management, vendor negotiations, and annual planning.
  • Soft Skills (Crucial): Exceptional communication skills and a proven track record in developing talent and driving a culture of continuous improvement and effective problem solving.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
