Short Description
The RMI connectivity team located in Irvine, California is home to Skyworks' design center for RF front-end solutions and power amplifiers for WiFi and mobile applications. This group has a challenging opportunity for an electrical engineer. As a PA and FEM module designer you will apply sound engineering skills to a variety of task and project assignments in the area of design engineering, and module evaluation/analysis.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on design responsibilities include PA design architecture study, circuit design/simulation, EM/thermal analysis, and IC layout
- Work with a variety of technologies including GaAs HBT, pHEMT, and SOI.
- Good knowledge of laminate, packages, and SMT components.
- Lab testing/tuning of circuits, presentation of design expectations/results, and participation in design reviews.
- You must be able to work well with other design, system, IC layout, module design, and validation teams.
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelors degree with minimum 2 years-experience in IC design or MS degree level
- Sound knowledge of RF PA/LNA/Switch architectures and design parameter tradeoffs
- Desirable knowledge/experience includes familiarity with ADS, Momentum, HFSS, and Cadence design tools.
- Strong experience with RF Test Equipment (e.g. Signal Generators, Network Analyzer, RF Spectrum Analyzer, DPD, Loadpull, etc.)
- IC Layout experience using Cadence including LVS and DRC.
- Understanding of packaging technologies such as wire bonding and flip-chip modules
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
- Good communication, organization, and documentation skills.
